Dis-Embarq

So, any Sprint reps know if I upgrade my phone (which extends my contract) will I loose my combined home/wireless billing with Embarq? Embarq keeps sending me crap in the mail asking to switch to their wireless... That may not work especially with $400 worth of ETF(s) switching from SPCS which is the same thing anyway...

Embarq is now an idependent company since it's spin off from Sprint Nextel Inc. this past spring. They're basically now a MVNO as far as the wireless products and services are concerned. Have you seen the prices Embarq charges for a phone???

Yes, however, they offer a $75 discount for one year and $150 discount off two year contracts... Same as SPCS when it comes to upgrading...

The problem I have is I combine bill w/ them for wireless (SPCS) & wireline (Embarq). If I do anything to upset that, I loose the combined billing and over $20 in discounts... So upgrading phone I loose it, change plan, contract expires, etc.

If you can't see the idea of cancelling a landline phone service, have you considered switching to a VoIP type service like Vonage or Packet8?

Thought about going w/ Brighthouse (Cable) because the plans better but than that is just more equipment (another modem) added to my nightmare of servers, wireless routers, etc that I'll have to babysit or reset daily... Not to mention, I'm sure Embarq won't let me disconnect the wires from my house to the sub out front which is where all the static comes from and they still haven't resolved...

I used to have Brighthouse Cable and Broadband when I lived in Central Florida(Apopka). There service was the bomb. Never had any issues with them and they too offer VoIP which they market as Digital Phone. I believe they're reselling the Sprint VoIP service. As far as modem issues, I rarely experienced any resets or technical glitches. I think Brighthouse still have a bundle deal where you can get all 3 of their services together at a decent savings.
