When is Sprint going to get it together and bring back a solid Smartphone? The others are killing us with the new GSM sliders and WCDMA technology. Anyone hear what's next for Sprint in the form of a smartphone or PDA???

Take a look at this article posted here at phonescoop.com back on September 13th.

I would not be suprised if the HTC PDA code named Libra ends up as part of the Sprint CDMA device portfolio. Think about it, who else is rolling with 1xEV-DO Rev A? The "Can you here me now? Good" people are still working on rolling out the 1xEV-DO Rev 0 over their existing 1xRTT network. We just went to town and launched an additional 3 Rev A markets in addition to the San Diego market. We'll just have to wait and see.

We already sell it in select markets and at the sprint.com site. I was referring to something I believe will end up replacing the PPC-6700.

Like the 6800, or HERMES from HTC?

Either way, the Samsungs are more powerful, and in my opinion, much better phones.

Or will they release it with the Rev 0 network until vzw gets off their duff and finally puts up Rev A?

The HTC manufactured device code named "Libra" and branded by the various wireless carriers is going to be Rev A by default and backwards compliant to Rev 0 as well as 1xRTT networks.

Well....ok....so, VZW gets it first. Both are due for an HTC upgrade for sure! As I've stated in other posts....I don't mind if VZW gets a device sooner than Sprint because more often than not it equates to a better tested & less glitchy product. Not to mention Sprint's UI and services are better, and they cost less! 🤤

But, back to the original post....I agree! I've been wanting a smartphone for a while now, and the rumors of the Motorola Q hitting Sprint have gotten me really excited! But, at this point...they're still just rumors. 🙄 I would really like to see something in the thin & light QWERTY form factor (Moto Q, Sammy Blackjack) or a clamshell smartphone (3125/Smartflip) hit Sprint! If they could offer something like...

The Q for Sprint is no longer a rumor. There is already a SKU in RMS for the Q.

Smartphones use their own US...They don't use a UI from Verizon or Sprint (well, technically they do, but the only differences are making it compatible with their diverse networks).

So, it doesn't matter. Just get the phone from the provider that has the best deals and service for your area.

It is stupid to do otherwise.
