Power Vision question
Whats upper Sprint dudes and dudettes? I am considering purchasing a Pantech PC card and EVDO service from your company. I have a couple of questions concerning their data plans.
1. How much is 40MB? I just want to be able to surf occasionally at school and when im away from my home. Would this plan work for me?
2. If I purchase the PC Card with the 40MB plan, would I still receive the $150 instant savings?
3. Is the Pantech PC card any good or should I go with the Novatel. I saw that the Novatel supports Rev A but we do not have that in Houston yet, so would it be worth it to spend the extra money or will the Pantech suffice until Wimax?
Thanks for your feedback π

for jsut surfing its allot. Downloading stuff or streaming songs and video its nothing. All depends on what you are going to use it for. I would go with a rev a card as it will be everywhere by the end of next year.

The Pantech card is great AND supports Rev A. I have been using one for about a month now and it's been working wonderfully. Rev A has not been deployed in my market yet either so I am excited to see the boost in speeds when it is (Q1 '07!)

Thanks for the info. I think that I am going to try the Pantech out for 30 days and see how it performs here in Houston.

1. Actually, 40mb might be a little bit to light because I use much more than that, but obviously, my laptops are on the web all the time with the things that I do daily and I think it is best to do the unlimited, but since you asked about the 40mb limit, you pay $39.99 and unlimited is $59.00 per month. For the 40mb limit, you pay an overage of $.001 per additional kilobytes.
2. I think so.
3. No go wait until the Novatel cards come out I had a bad experience with Pantech and the performance is not as good. There are going to be express cards, USB devices, and pc-cards that Novatel Wireless will release for Sprint. I would wait until they come to the marketplace unless you want to get the S620, which is REV O. the REV A one is the...

So you have had problems with the Pantech card. I have never heard of them and wanted some feedback about this product. Thanks for the feedback.
Also, on Sprint's website they have a Novatel pc card. Is this the card that you are referring to or are they planning to release something else in the near future?

Yea, there were performance, coverage issues that I have experienced with the other cards and had flawless issues with the Novatel and Sierra Wirelessβ devices.
Yea, the S720(REV A) and the S620( REV O) where the pc-cards I was talking about, but I was also mentioning to you that shortly they will come out with a USB interface device and an Express Card device. Sierra Wireless has that Air Card 595 for REV A too.
I did not really explain that well when I replied to you- my apologizes.
