i guess there is a policy at sprint stores that says you can only exchange a phone once (i just signed up for service last week so i am within my 30 days). however both blades have shut off while exting....will they exchange my phone again? they can't find anyhting wrong with it when they test it....if they don't exchange it i'll have to port to verizon and return my blade....
...
Can't be true. You were just saying the blade was the best thing since sliced bread. The phone is nice but as I have said it has problems. battery life the biggest one!
...
What is Sprint's problem????
by verizon74 Nov 12, 2006, 12:27 PM
I bought the blade and it would shut off on its own. I brought it in to exchange it and no problem, the sprint store came through. Well the second phone did the same thing so I tried to exchange it for the exact same phone and they said no! I was so mad I immediately went to verizon to port my number over....they said i have 15 days to exchange it as many times as is needed.....seems to me verizon is more customer oriented....
Seems like to me we went over this with you before............ đ¤Ŗ
...
ok, i am going to address this...i have ONE name on here...anywyas could someone answer the question or should i just port to verizon?
...
like I give a crap if you port to verizon. Then you can change your name to verizon74 oh thats taken!
...
dang i'm serious...do i have other opions or not? can't i ask a simple question? i'm really looking for advice.....
...
go to a store act like a civilized person and ask for the store manager. If you are nice and reasonable they will go out of their way to help you!
...
you really think so? it says on the back of the receipt about the one time only exchange policy....would a manager make an exception? its not like i'm trying to upgrade....i just want the same phone
...
I would, if you were nice about it. Talk to them, we can break policies if we need to, but if you come in threatening to port and stuff like that no one will be willing to give you the time of day. Thats my suggestion.
...
you would be amazed what people would do for you when you treat them with respect.
...
I am really trying to understand the issue. I mean, take it back and exchange it, the least I have ever heard is a store exchanging a phone THREE times. Try a different phone even. I have a 920 and love it (though it is discontinued now, don't know if you'll be able to get it), or try a Sanyo 8400. If the blade isn't working for you, try something else. Geez, it is like you are trying to find something wrong!! Seriously, talk to them, tell them what's up, and I would bet they'll exchange it again. Done deal!
...
how about get rid of the blade? it obviously has some issues. plus, it is not that great of a phone anyways. just my 2 cents đ
...
yeah but then i can't exchange it for anyhting...i feel forced to port out when i really would rather not
...
this may be wrong since im new in the world of Sprint, but just buy a new phone at retail and stay with Sprint. The V3m is a good VZW phone.
...
that would suck âšī¸
...
what? the RAZR? the RAZR is a great phone.
...
damn, you are in a bad place. if they wont accept it back you dont really have many other options. I have never heard of this type of return policy. try calling cs and see if they can come to some type of resolution for you.
...
The one exchange policy is pretty fair and flexible( đ¤Ŗ ), at least in my area. It is really to prevent excessive vanity exchanges, ie. different colors, can't decide on a device etc. In practice, if you are not an a-hole and your device is defective, and you are within 30 days (sometimes longer) they should exchange it for you. Like I said before, don't be jerk and don't go in trying to be a bully and threatening to port out and such, we don't respond well to that. You'll probably need to ask for a manager because he will be the one to make the final decision. Hope that helps.
...
are you a manager or sprint employee or just guessing here?
...
I'm a corporate manager.
...
That really is the biggest bunch of crap I have ever heard, dude. No offense, but I don't get it.
...
Yes, we know you have ONE name, Sprint74 b/c your old s/n verizon74 got shut off by the mods. I suggest you cancel your account w. Sprint and open a new one if they won't return it for you. Steer clear of the A900 cool features but poor phone. We know what we're talking about, we've told you this for a long time. Do you think we post this for fun? It sucks... point blank

If you want a phone that won't fail on you I suggest picking up a Sanyo 7500- you can get one off Ebay for about 150.00 in mint condition. Its a Power Vision phone and it kicks ass. I just got the extended battery for mine tonight! đ

or you could buy a Samsung 660, it will be just as good or even better yet a Nokia 6016. They are all in the same category as the 7500.

Man, you pimp that phone hard! It's an okay phone, but seriously... wow. đŗ

đ¤Ŗ I just like it allot man it has so many great features for me. I don't see anything that is so much better in Sprints current line up- we got the Blade, Fusic, M610, Razr, I mean come on those phones suck.
I cant wait for the Qchat phones we will see some well built handsets then.
...
Ok maybe I am dumb. But what in the world makes you think just because qchat is in it that they will be built better then they are now? I think the fusic, razr, krazr, and if you don't need evdo the katana are great phones.

Well I thought the point of qchat was to get the current Nextel users to migrate over to the Sprint side and Qchat will be taking the place of IDEN...is that wrong? The nextel user wont be coming over if they see a bunch of fancy dancy girly music phones right? they still need to build good rugged phones for the qchat user.
...
I am in the military and my phones have been through allot. And keep going as they are now. Yes a few built to withstand a great deal of pounding would be nice. They will probably make them but not with fancy options that make the fusic razr kazr and katana what they are. They will be your basic communication phone. I could be wrong just my 2 cents. Basicly just like the nextel phones are now.

And thats what I like so I'll be good to go.
I IC902 looks very well built to me and it has POWER Vison, no 850 but hell I dont use it, I will probably hold out for Qchat tho.

I just hope qchat is everything they are claiming it is going to be!

Plus are they not making more hybird phones that will be better then the Motorola ic502, I was reading the next one will have powervision and looks like its built like a tank. I wanna buy that one for sure.

Hey Sprint74 - I'm not positive that's what your return policy is stating. If I'm not mistaken...the "exchange" that your receipt states is for a change of device - as in going from the Blade to the KRZR. Not for an exchange of the same device if defective and within 14 days (or whatever the timeframe is). I returned the PPC 6700 for the Samsung A920. The A920 that I purchased I had to return, and they gave me a brand new one no questions asked. Although...I was able to show them what was wrong with the phone. Either way, I agree with what others have said...if you're a jack*ss, they'll treat you like one. If you're cool, they'll help you. đ
...
Another thought....if you're really wanting to stick with the Blade (since you really haven't used your "1 exchange" yet), I'd suggest getting the full insurance placed on your monthly plan. It's only about $6/month. That way, if this issue persists &/or gets worse after your trial period ends, you can pay the $50 to have your phone replaced (with a possible refurb). I myself keep the insurance on a newly purchased phone for about the first 6-8 months. After that, my rationale is - if I break it...I'm most likely going to want a more recently released device...not the same one I just broke. Quite honestly though, since the Blade is already over a year old and being phased out, you may want to consider a different device. Just a thought. đ
