EVDO on metro phones
metro has some phones that were originally designed with a 1x chip and a evdo chip, since metro doesnt have a evdo network(yet?), do the phones that originally had an evdo chip(razr v3m, slvr l7c), have them in the metroPCS versions of them, is the evdo turned off or there's no evdo chip in there at all?

I think MetroPCS offers some of its data services with EVDO I see the little EV icon on my razr v3m so I think it uses EVDO for something. I bet some of the @metro serives along with the mobile internet use the EVDO service, but not all their phones use it, go figure.

so you're saying metro has evdo networks up and running in certain markets?, or they are using another carrier's evdo network, was the speeds fast when u were using their web services

EVDO is up in the newer markets in certain areas, altough they are primarily using it for voice and not data, the speeds are comparable to all other EVDO networks, transfer rate averages of 300 to 700 kbps. Metro uses its own EVDO network

thanx, i live in detroit, michigan, is evdo up and running in my area, how come metro did not put this in their news bulletin, or it isnt on phonescoop thats big news to me, but oh well, how are they using evdo for voice when evdo is data only unless they put out rev a networks?
