Alltel+U.S. Cellular????

U.S. Cellular/TDS really needs to get on this. They could call the company "Alltellular" and use "The Blond Dipshit" and "The Joan" in their commercials. Actually, if I saw those two together, I would probably kill myself. I think Alltel and U.S. Cellular are the perfect fit.

Alltel has some poopy customer service and plans, compared to the plans that we have worked so hard to make competitive in this market.

I agree, but USC could show Alltel how it should be done. The coverage would be sweet. When they merge, they need to clean out BOTH marketing departments and start over.lol

Actually, the marketing and ads for Alltel are clever (or they were in the beginning), and national. They have people all over the country asking, "When will Alltel be coming to our area?". That's salting in its highest form!

Not gonna happen anytime soon.

Alltel has a grasp on what effective marketing is. US Cellular does not.

By the way... Joan has been fired. I believe she is officially out in June.

I agree that it isn't going to happen. I would almost be ready to bet that nothing is going to come of Alltel's positioning, at least not any time soon. It's just fun to think about what ifs.....

Alltel isn't merging with anyone. They are checking to see what they are worth. They should merge with USC. It would be the best fit. I can't believe Joan is gone. Dreams do come true!!!!

USC and TDS MAY have put an offer on the table for Alltel. This would be a good explanation as to why TDS pulled back from deciding to purchase the remaining 19.3% of USC's common stock to make it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Truth is, USC/TDS has PLENTY of capital to purchase Alltel but it may not be smart to do it at this time.

Whether who might decide to buy Alltel, I believe though if it happens, USCC would be a better choice, simply because it would help USCC increase their presence in the country, plus the existing Alltel network would have some improvements too. There will be areas that'll have to be divested, particularly most of the overlapping A & B side areas of southern Wisconsi...

Way to go boys!! drksyde and dave73 laid it out almost exactly the way it should go down. I knew people would understand. I'm not sure if this is the perfect time for a merger/buyout, but better now than never.
