Just recently bought a used V3c from a friend. I have not been able to receive transfers of ringtones, pics or video via bluetooth, but I can send them. Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!!

I've seen a rash of these happening. I'd appreciate the help as well. Eventually, it will start not working for anything besides a headset.

You do the find me process when your trying to receive something, right? Thats the most common reason why that I have to deal with.
If that isnt the reason, the V3c has had a few software updates from when it was originally release to USCC. Try taking it to a local repair center and getting the newest software flashed in.

Find me is not working. I called the closest repair center manager and he said that they couldn't do anything about it. He said as far as he knew, it didn't have anything to do with the updated software.

I also tried find me. It didn't work for me either. I called customer service and they advised me that it wasn't anything that tech team could do, because it was a phone problem, not a service problem. So my friend called motorola and they gave him the run around, told him to take the battery out reset phone and nothing worked. please help!

That is the same info I got. I wish I could help!

alright guys I need some more information to help you with this problem. First things first, I need to know what software version you have. if it is anytion other then 4.09 ie 4.08 or 3.16 then I will not let you recieve anything through the bluetooth. However you can still send. If it is 4.09 that its simple, your doing it all wrong. In Example, if you want to transfer a ringtone from v3c A to v3c B you need to first go to the media gallery then select the song/ringtone you want to transfer and select options, go to copy and then a screen will pop up that says look for device, on v3c B you need to go to the bluetooth settings and select "find me" then on v3c A select "look for device" the next few steps are self explainatory. Let me k...

update is available on Motorola website. it's free. just need the cable to connect it, don't even need the MPT. we do it here at our store a lot for free.
just go to Motorola.com, then support, and you'll find the link for the update, and get the one for US Cellular. you'll need the cable, and the site will tell you how to get the drivers.
by the way, baker20altus pretty much gave me all this info, since i don't mess much with it. but that's all you need to fix this problem!
...
Yea! Thanks, I like this answer better than the ones I've been given lately.
...
yeah the update doesn't take that long at all. stupid v3c's! hahaha.

Are you trying to receive ringtones and such from a V3M, KRZR, or SLVR? If you are you cannot receive from these due to different software, even if you do get the lastest software update for the V3c they are still not compatible. You can send to the new phones but you cannot receive from them.
Also non motorola phones carried by USC that are bluetooth enabled are not unlocked to data. They are restricted to headsets only.

not 100% accurate. I know the 6265 is capable of data trnsfr over bluetooth. I just trnsfred ringtones and pics for a customer last night. aside from that, I think you are correct.
...
not accurate at all actually. I have done this for customers at least 250 times or more! USCCGIRL is incorrect! You can transfer from any razr to any razr, slvr, krzr, ect....
...
i've taken krzr ring tones before, i believe.
