You need to decide if you are interested in pay or benefits.
If you work for the company you will have good pay and great benefits.
If you work for an agent, they are much smaller and this you may have an opportunity for more money (depending on the agent-most are cheap and dont share the wealth) but you will likely have sub-par benefits.
USCC pays $90 for a 24m contract on a renewal. Most agents pay around $15. You see who gets the cash.
USCC pays an agent $250 for a new 24m contract at $50 and up, but the employee generally gets $15-20. You still see who gets the cash.
Agents all have bonus tiers built in so they really, really rake in the cash when they hit their bonus levels and therefore they can add an additional $50+ per numbe...

In your opinion, how much should an Agent pay an employee for selling a 2yr renewal?
...
USCC does not pay 90 for a 24m renewal. lol the compensation is good but be realistic. Your pay depends if you work for a corp. store or an agent owned (which is like franchising).
...
He's a troll who's sole purpose in this forum is to trash USCC.
Don't feed the trolls.

Really, I didn't know that.

Whats his beef with USCellular? ๐ Y is he hatin? and cant he be banned? ๐คจ
Im new to US Cellular as a service tech and look forward to any input on any arrising issues I might have. ๐

I don't know what his beef is, only that no matter what anyone says, he spouts on and on about how bad the company is.

Im an Agent in WV for a company and they just modified our Commission standards, as of right now I get paid $8/hr plus commission, on a 24 month contract I get $15, talk tracker 10, accessories under 49.95 are 2 dollars, 49.95 and above 5 dollars, verticals under 9.95 are one dollar, verticals over 9.95 I get 5 dollars, renews on 24 months I get only 10, honestly I know they aren't the greatest rates in the world but if you have a busy enough store like the one I work in ... Its easy to make in Commission alone up to 1000 per month plus your hourly rate every 2 weeks... so the Money is not bad and the Agents here at least are actually devoted to what we sell...

I work at an agent location and our pay is pretty good. Employees are paid $45 per renewel, $50-100+ for new contracts (depending on price plan level and vertical atachments, most sales earn $85 before verticals are added.) This guy is full of bolgne...

yeah the troll is a whimp probably got canned from uscc for not meeting his goal. I work for corporate and lets just say 5000 grand a month in comissions plus hourly and full benefits including 401k match and the best health insruance in america isn't a bad living. i've got pay stubs to prove it!
...
I worked for them for a while. It was the most deceitful company I could ever imagine. They are all about trust.yeah right.
- The culture survey is a sham. If you are honest and tell them the truth about their managers, then you will not be there long. TRUST ME. Especially watch the skip levels
...
you gots canned, sit down and shut your mouth
...
Nah... I didn't get canned. I got a REAL life and a real job with a REAL company. ๐คฃ You should do the same.- Keep drinking that kool-aid and let me know how it works out for you.
...
you didn't get canned. you don't work for uscc anymore, them forcing you to resigh, thats still getting fired they just don't have to pay you workmens comp. Oh and when the company you work for now stock gets goes higher then the real company that pays me in real money in the upwards of 80 grand come and talk to me you queer
...
So Rain you have me intrigued by your salary. I would love to find out more. I used to work in medford and knoxville call centers and now for an agent location in Medford.
...
I work in a coporate retail store and once you get past the snotty people you have to work with a new add will pay you $10 a renewal will also pay you $10 however 80% of what walks thru the door will result in a non commissional transaction such as a loaner, or a bill explanation.
...
lol this person should quit and will soon be fired for not meeting their goal and you get paid 25 an activation and face vaule on feature and 10 bucks for renewals........your a sales person you have to turn those people that aren't in the store for sales into sales
...
actually its based on how many you sell, you get either 10, 15, or 25 after go past certain thresholds.
...
Okay, here's the deal. You are paid an hourly wage plus commission. The wage varies depending on where you live and the commission is is on a sliding scale depending on how much you actually sell.
I can't give you specifics as it would be a violation of policy. I can tell you it is better than competitors and the benefits packet (which starts day one) are great.
...
I agree with Mr. Mayor. I am a service tech and couldn't be happier. The pay is decent, but the benefits are awesome.
...
I used to work for a U.S. Cellular agent and now I work for a Verizon agent. Hourly rate and commissions on new activations are about the same. The commission for accessories at Verizon is definetly better and the commission for upgrades was better at USC. The big difference for me though is compensation over added features. At verizon I make $2 if the feature is $9.98 or less and $4 is the feature is $9.99 or higher. At USC I made 70% of whatever the feature was, example $10 easyedge I made $7. This is disappointing for me now because the store I currently work at does a lot PDA plans and I only make $4 off of them versus the $31.50 I would have made at USC.
...
Now you make 100% of the feature. So if you sell a $9.95 EaseEdge you get a $9.95 commission. If you sell as $39.95 BlackBerry data package you get $39.95... in my market anyway.

heres the problem with this, u.s. cellular wasn 't paying you some private party was and us cell was paying them. so us cell wasn't screwing anyone over the private person paying you was. you should see what agent owener get paids. its ungodly and considering all the problems agents cause they shouldn't be paid much at all

Take the crack pipe out of your mouth! You have no idea what you are talking about regarding how much Agent owners get paid.
I liked your posts to people who were let go from USCC. You made them accountable for their own actions. However, I think you are way off base regarding the Agent channel.
...
blah, your obviously not an agent owner! I assume your an employee of an agent, but its obvious if an agent pays their own rent and utilities, accessories and ect that they are well compensated. thats why uscc. uscc pays them a good amount of money for every activation plus the cost of the phone and in turn they open more store fronts and put uscc name on the front of them. its pure genius. its just sucks for agent employees he get the shaft! crappy hourly, crappy commission and crappy/no benefits
