No internal communications

Sir Roland

This is a reminder that if you work for a cell phone carrier you should not be releasing internal communications on this or any other website. Please respect the company you work for and don't give out insider information about future releases, of phones or plans.

This is a reminder to sir roland that I will release any information I receive about u.s cellular to whomever I want, as I have done before.

It is important for people to know what plans and new phones/policies are coming out.

Sharing internal information is a great way to set unrealistic expectations to customers on this forum, as well as make us less competitive in the market place. Way to support the company.

I take the approach that the pre-release of this information is both necessary and desirable toward the success and continued thriving of this industry. Building excitement is something that is done only by the continued rise of expectations set by "insider" information. Excitement hardly builds or materializes when something is released without any prior knowledge. Word of mouth set forth by "insider" information is absolutely vital to the vitality of an industry where upstaging your competition is considered par for the course.

Well I don't know who Ray is but I'm not him. Personally, working in Customer Service, it really sucks when someone at the store has told a customer, "OMG TEH Q IS COMING OUT SO SOON" (last December was when this started) and it just came out this month. Yeah... building anticipation, or making us all look like idiots?

Ummmm...not it wouldn't. Clearly you also lack the understanding regarding a buildup of excitement for release dates and other "insider" information.

The fact of the matter is that going against company policy and releasing information about new and upcoming phones creates inconsistency and makes customers lose faith in the information provided.

Let's say store rep A says "oh yeah, we'll be getting such and such phone soon". And then once the phone goes through testing, it is determined that the phone will not be released. OOPS, phone actually isn't being released, sorry!

Let's say store rep B says "oh we're going to get the ROKR anytime now". Then the customer calls in to customer service and asks us about it - and we explain to them the reasons we do not release information about upcoming phones or phones that are in testing. "well store rep B told me it was coming out, why don't...
