lol, we have several phones, that are EVDO capable. I think there is even a discontinued phone that could do EVDO. EVDO is running in at least one market, and it's possible that USCC may have EVDO in the future. It's getting hard to find a high end or even good media phone without EVDO capability, no matter what network you look at.

damn by 2009 wimax will be fully deployed and verizon I am sure will have an answer to sprints womax. And att and tomible will have their network speeds close to wimax by then. I hope USCC skips rev a if that is the case and goes to b or c or something like that or they will continue to be behind the power curve!

i disagree rev a is going to be fast enough from practical phone usages even high end video streaming and pc cards. It is stupid to upgrade with the big boys and take on debt for a technology that is just about the marketing line and not the real customer practical use. If there are going to be no devices/ or services or features that will benifit from rev b or c then there is no reason to have the high amount of debt required to upgrade the system. simple as that it is a cost vs reward model, basic corporate economics.

let me tell you here in japan they get from 5 to 10 mbs on average here depending on were you are. They want faster. You can use it and Rev A is not fast enough. It is averaging in the states below 1mbs. People want speed due they are on the road more. And if you are not going after data people dont even upgrade to Rev a at all and save even more. As people will not go with USCC for EVDO for say 59.99 when they have wimax even cheaper and faster.

The most important on that situation like you mentioned has to do with pure mobility. Sometimes when you go 20mph+ those data speeds on DO diminishes while on Wimax it doesn’t. that is the same way overseas. (I mean with the no decreasing in data speeds if you are actually moving.)
