US cell and NEW phones
i am a long time us cell cust. i am on the $69 all you call plan. now they have announced unlimited like the other carriers, i might stay because i do need the LD and roam. i have the krzr and love it however its going on the fritz and i am getting bored with it(so i bought a curve from tmo and pearl from sprint to test out). when will us cell step up to the plate and offer a better selection of phones? i know they talk about testing however i was in the cell industry for over 10 years and i know this is a marketing gimmic....i do love the us cell service it works almost everywhere in chicago(though i could use 3 way and better VM) however the tmo curve it getting very impressive reception

the internet is still the same as the pearl and the 8830 but the curve will be the newest processor set so it might improve a little. I heard from a little birddie that it is in testing and if all goes well see it soon.

I love how I read this forum and over and over again people complain about the lack of options with regards to phone choice. Every single time, some US Cellular staffer comes on here and says: what do you mean no choices? we have all the cool phones!
Well you do not. if I was not locked into a crazy low price point on my calling plan,I would be gone in a second. Take a minute and look at other providers phone choices. Then, please come back here and type with straight face "our phones are just as cool as theirs."

It's kinda crazy that we are all shallow enough to want to switch companies because of the "cool" factor. Truth be known, where I live, US Cellular is the best service. We have verizon, at&t, suncom, alltel. Yeah, their phones are awesome but if you can't pick up service anywhere what's the point of having a cool phone?

It has nothing to do with the "coolness" of the phone. living in the Chicago area, most cell companies have the area saturated pretty well with cell towers. The only exception that I have found to this statement is that TMobile absolutely sucks in the Western suburbs. Poor coverage, many dropped calls, etc.
So, even if TMobile introduced the "coolest phone ever" I would still never go to the as long as these network deficiencies remained.
Thus, when you have relatively equal levels of coverage (Verizon is actually the best in the Chicago area followed by USCellular, AT&T, then everyone else except TMobile, who just sucks!!), the next issue you look for is actual equipment functionality and price point of equipment and service. (A...

It is the ultimate biz SP. I have Sprint(former uscc custy) and EVDO is the ****.(in big cities!!) Not sure about uscc, but if I don't pick up EVDO, it's really slow. Worse than dial-up!!!!! Do you need a crappy 1.3mp cam? If so, the 8830 isn't for you. From what I've heard, the Curve sucks!!!

I still don't see whats so cool about the lg's. There battery life is only so so and the ones that I have had were not very durable. What I would like to see is the Moto Q9c, Samsung sch-u740 or any Treo phones.
