I am with US Cellular Southern Wisconsin. I just had my line switch over from my Ex-husband to a friends account. My friends account is just going into it's first year of a 2 year contract, his plan was switched to a family plan. I have had my cell phone for over a year plus..is there a way to get a new one at discount? My phone is falling apart and no way will make it another year. Any ideas? Thanks

Since it's a new contract, you should have gotten a new phone.... Take your friend with to the store, and tell them what you did, and state that you did not get offered a new phone... the way i see it...new contract...new phone...

actually... when you do a change of responsibility (if you kept your same number) it does not change the original contract length, so if you line was eleg. for an upgrade, it still is. The only downside is now that it's in your friends name, they have to sign the paperwork but renewing you line will not have their original contract length change.

Yea thats the jist of it. If you just put your self on your firends name it dose not change when you can upgrade your phone. each line has it's own contract. Yea but you do have to have your friend go down and sine you to upgrad the phone.
