What is U.S Cellular planning?
The Verizon Wireless acquisition of Alltel should be an opportunity for U.S. Cellular considering Verizon reportedly plans to divest 85% of Alltel's pops to gain approval for the 'merger'. If U.S. Cellular has serious plans to grow, then surely they have to be a player.

verizon released a divestion list and it only covered a handfull of markets (mostly rural non us cellular areas)
This is not a final approval list by the FCC.
I agree "IF" there is avaiable prime divested markets that US Cellular should jump on the opertunity to grow.

I am so sorry. Verizon's plan is to keep 85% and divest 15% of Alltel. My thinking is if they are planning to give up 15% they are afraid that Justice and the FCC will demand more. I'd rather see a little guy jump in their the way Alltel did when Verizon was formed than for Cing--AT&T to buy those assets.
