To the assocaites that sell in the Chicago markets, and the customers:
Do you see this promo being sold a lot, and the nation-wide promo's? They seem like they would do very well.
Or is it not a demand? Looks like the cost went down too.

Yes, the nationwide sells very, very well. The all-you-can-call promo doesn't sell as much becuase as much as I think people would love to have unlimited minutes, the majority of customers are looking for a more affordable deal, or for family/couple plans. Especially now that the Chicago market offers unlimited incoming calls, there is not really as much of a demand for the unlimited calling plan as there was before "call me" minutes were offered. đ

I am jelous. We are the leading carrier where I sell, but the demand for better nation-wide plans is increasing. Our plans, and coverage out beat any carrier here on the West coast.
I was speaking to a very important leader, and he was saying how they are going to see how those plans do out there. If they do well, and make a profit they will see about launching it company wide. I can only hope and dream.

I have no affiliation with USCC other than being a 4-line customer. There is no doubt in my mind that USCC will spread Chicago-style plans to other markets. USCC has to do this in order to compete. Just don't look for the plans to be as sweet as found in Chicago but they'll be enticing nonetheless.

I agree. But I do have to admit, our promo plans are really nice the way the are now. At least they are here on the West coast. Like I said we need to start bumping up the compition, and meet those nation-wide plans.

đ Yes, the competition out here in Chicago is fierce! That's why they chose this market to try out a competitive nationwide plan. I'm not familiar with any of the promotions that are going on out on the West Coast. What kind of plans do they offer out there? Also, one thing to remember is...if they do offer a nationwide plan out there similar to the one going out here, it will only be tease, a temporary boost in sales (which is better than no boost in sales đ ), it will still end. Ours is scheduled to end March 5th. You have to remember USCC is taking a hit to offer these plans.

The west coast local plan caters to the Oregon folks. I have a local plan and I live in Washington and I can't even get Seattle on my local plan.

The same problem happens in every market unfortunatly. Oregon customers want the Selem, Eugene, Portland area included. The California customers want The Bay Area, Chico, Redding area included. And I am sure other markets have the same thing.
We have the un incoming, and un m-2-m offered on 49.95+ price plans, and free incoming on 39.95+ price plans. Same ones most markets have. We just don't have the 50% off access like other markets have. âšī¸ Or the nationwaide plrice plans.
We still are by far the dominating company where I work. We have the best signal, and best price plans. Even with the gaps on the local coverage map.

I work for an Agent of US Cellular on the EAST COAST, and we have yet to see this Promo. I would be interested in seeing if we get something out here that resembles that. As for the national plans, I agree with you that we need to compete better in that category. We have Awesome local and regional plans, but the National stuff just doesn't compete well with the other providers in my market.

Do you get a lot of customers asking for a more competitive National plan? I don't know what your Regional states are. Most customers on the West coast only want Arizona added to the Regional calling area. They really don't ask for better National plans. It would just be nice, like icing on the top of the cake, to offer more competitive National plans. đ

Well, not a lot, just some who do actually have Cingular and Verizon. We have some people who travel to Florida a lot and some who travel outside of our regional plans, but not a lot. Our regional plans in the North East cover everywhere from Maine to New Jersey, including New York and Penn. It's a pretty big region. We get a ton of people who travel from Maine (where I sell) to Boston. Unfortunately, we don't include any part of Mass in our Local Plan. Boston Market is Saturated with Carriers, so we can't buy into that market yet. When we do (If we do) we'll sell a ton more.

Out of the Care Centers we don't change many customers to this plan, however, it is being offered only in chicago market and there are several customers that highly benefit from this plan. when we do a RPA, if the cust is more likely to pay less with this plan then others plus the overage they are incurring...we definately suggest it. Also, customers call in to request the plan.
