TDS: Shares rise on buzz of U.S. Cellular deal

Shares of Telephone & Data Systems Inc., the Chicago-based operator of wireless carrier U.S. Cellular Corp., continued their climb Tuesday and have risen 7.1 percent this year.
TDS stock, which added 52 cents Tuesday, to $82.85, on the American Stock Exchange, has rallied on speculation that U.S. Cellular would be purchased. TDS owns about 82 percent of the company.
TDS has posted the best performance this year among the 15 stocks in a Standard & Poor's index of phone-service firms. Cincinnati Bell Inc., formerly known as Broadwing Inc., is the only other member of the group to advance, gaining 0.5 percent....
