I just signed up for service with USCC, I just wanted to do a year contract, willing to pay more for the phone, and I am told that I can not get the call me minutes if I dont do the 2 year contract. WHY????
that makes no sense, I did a 2 year contract, but, I am planning on turning the phone back in and shutting down the service just because I do not want to be committed for 2 years, and a few other reasons, but this being the main reason. I know, I will hear that why did you sign up in the first place if you didnt want to do a 2 year contract, at the time, I thought maybe I could live with it.
IS there a way I can call in and downgrade to a year contract and keep the call me minutes? If not, I will be shutting the service down....

Sorry, you have to sign a 2 year contract to get airtime promotions. Once you've been a customer for 2 years, then you can usually get promos if you resign for 1 year at a time and keep the same phone

I don't work for USCC. I'm just a customer and certainly see your point. But, if you're happy with your service, what's the big deal about signing a 2-year contract?
The Call Me Minutes is a nice feature but its not a dealbreaker for me. Only a small percentage of my minutes are incoming anyway. If you receive a lot of calls, then I would understand and would sign a 2-year to take advantage of the promo.
Since you did sign the 2-year, what are the other reasons?

I was thinking about going to USCC on the national plan, and I decided to try it, but, have found that in my area, Iowa, minnesota, and south dakato, that when you are outside of USCC territory, that the phone would only receive the call half the time, I used my verizon phone and made 10 calls to the USCC number, and while in USCC teritory, no problem, might even work better then verizon, but, outside the area, the calls would only go thru half the time, what I mean, is that the USCC phone would only ring half the time, I would get the voicemail. I tried this 3 seperate times, in different areas, one time, 4 out of 10 calls went thru, 2nd time, 6 out of 10, and 3rd time 5 out of 10 went thru, and the ones that did go thru took an average of ...

I switched to USCC from Verizon precisely because of the Chicago National Plans. I still love Verizon but USCC has better pricing so I took advantage of the 30-day no-risk trial and I ported since I found USCC to be as good if not better than Verizon.
As for roaming on a non-USCC network...I went to Connecticut in February and roamed on Verizon. Everything was fine; no problems. The only thing I couldn't use was data, which at this time is not setup to roam between carriers.

you can keep your "call me min" on a one year plan. It will cost you $5.95 to add them on as a feature. 😁 😁
