Nokia 6019i as Modem for Dialup??

Hi All:

I'm the proud owner of a couple of Nokia 6019i's with USC; love the service and the phones.

I've been trying to get the phones set up as modems for dialup access for my laptop, and it's quite a sage. I've gotten the CA-42 installed (not easy) and the phone set up as a modem (not easy, either), and can even get it to dial my dialup ISP. But after a second or so, it hangs up. The USC rep intimates that this has something to do with "CSD" (circuit switch data) settings, and that there is a work around, but he can't tell me what it is, and that this forum is the place to go with such questions.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I don't know which market you are in, but here in the Oklahoma City market, our network is not set up to handle that type of data transfer. We have had several customers attempt this but after speaking with our cell engineers, I was informed that it is not possible. It might be different in other markets, but not here in Oklahoma City. Sorry.
