What happens if a person goes over their 50% rule 3 months in a row?

Does USCC just shut the service down, or what?

And why does USCC not make this part of the contract, where the customer has to initial that they understand the 50% rule? It would make things less complicated, USCC has a limitation on the national plan, they should make sure the customer knows this and states so on the contract, it is kind of an important thing to know. There is no need for this to be printed on the contract because it is printed on the back of the rate plan brochure in fine print which should be handed to every customer.

If you pay particular attention, on a manual contract, it is on the back of your copy of the contract in one of the many paragraphs, or if you are being given a printed copy of your contract, then the associate who is selling you the phone is responsible for giving you a third page that is to be stapled to your contract that indicates the stipulations involved with the 50% rule if you fail to follow it.

If you are not being given this sheet with the terms and conditions then you should ask the associates in the store that you frequent, the reason why they are not att...

Thanks for the info, I know that my buddy signed up for the national plan, and his contract was printed out, and no pamplet was stapled to his contract about the 50% rule, so, I am sure that this is not just in my area, it doesnt happen for some reason or another. I read the back of my contract which is manaully done, and there is a paragraph about the rule, but not detailed, just says 50% of your minutes have to be used in USCC coverage area, nothing about the 3 consecutive months in a row.

It was just an idea, people have to initial that they accecpt, or decline the siginal dial direct insurance, it would be just as easy to have the same about the 50% rule, this way USCC corporate knows that the consumer knows about it and understand...

No, you are not being misinformed. The 50% rule is just a general rule on all plans. That is why it does not specify local or national at this point. You are being told almost everything that you need to be told.

The suggestion is a good one though and should get passed along to the top.

The Terms and Conditions of your contract do define the 50% rule. Unforthunately, it is up to the agent to communicate that to the customer since most customers never read their entire contract.

we do not convey it as much as we should but i have never seen us cellular turn anyones phones off because of the 50% rule, if i ever move outside the local area i am just going to go to the closest and do a change of address to their local area and go on a regional plan with reg N+W, as i like my phone too much. but more than 50% of my minutes would be unused anyway. so thats how i can rationalize it.

I have not seen them shut anyone's off but mine, and actually, they wanted to just alter my contract instead of shutting it off. I have a friend that uses his phone more then I do outside the area, always has, for the last 4 years after they shut me off, and they never have said a word to him. The only thing we can think of is I used my phone in Minnesota alot more then he did, that is about the only difference, and I was contacted, he was not, and I can tell you, he uses his phone outside the area a whole lot more then I did. I dont know if I have been told correct or not, but, a rep told me that USCC does not like minnesota, specially owatonna, MN, the roaming charges are higher up there for some reason, any one know if that is true or ...
