6255i update

In our agent connections newsletter we were updated on the status of the Nokia 6255. Here is the excerpt:

"Nokia has launched national commercials highlighting the Nokia 6255. This is Nokia's first CDMA fold phone, tagging us as arriving at a U.S. Cellular store this summer. This handset is currently in testing. The anticipated launch date is August, pending testing results. We will not release a handset until the manufacture meets our requirements and the handset has complete and passed all testing. Updates will be available in future Agent Connections."

I've already been asked about this phone by customers, and am interested in getting on for myself, so hopefully it will finally pass testing. I will update more as information ...

I think the implication is 2005, considering the nokia commercial advertises the phone's arrival at a U.S.Cellular store this summer. We have plenty of phones that haven't been discontinued by three other carriers, so I doubt the validity of this "policy."

he was messing around, using hyperbole. but 99% chance its because of easyedge, us cellulars data service is so different than everyone else who has better stuff its hard for us cellular to get it to work with their stuff.

Yeah, that makes sense. Also, I know speedtalk is out on the 7th, and I'm not sure if the nokia is p2t capible or not.

Nokia phone WILL NOT be SpeedTalk capable...sadly!

actually, uscc uses the same data as verizon, brew. they just have more applications then uscc, but its the same set up
