So that button bothers you enough to not use LG? Did you know on the LG 6100 you can take those voice memos and make them ringtones, text greetings, and if someone else has a capable phone and picture messaging then you can even send pic messages with noice and this noise can be you're recorded voice? Have you looked at the audiovox 8910? If you're really just anti-LG...the 8910 is a cool phone.
