😢 😢 😕
the new quarterly price increases are out...and boy..someone isn't using their head up there...
...
50 dollars off a phone for a 2 year contract is not customer service and borders on piracy.
...
yep...and way to go with the 30 dollar bump on the 6100...thats using the ol noggin,,, 🙄
...
thats the phone im talking about. There is something wrong with charging 150 for a phone on a $40 plan that cost 207 for the company to buy. That actually makes me angry, not as a customer, i don't care, but from a customer service point of view thats the customer "service" george carlin talks about.
...
they do charge to much for phones i agree 100 % on that but uscc does have good service. 🙂
...
The LG 6100 is 129.99 with a 50 dollar mail in rebate on a 39.95 plan, on a 49.95 or higher plan its 99.95 with a 50 dollar rebate.. if you think thats too expensive go look at some other wireless provider prices on the same type of phone and youll see we are reasonably priced.
...
I don't know about you but in my market, They are charging 149.95 for a 39.95 plan and higher with a 50 dollar rebate. Now you can compare it to the other phones pricing, but not when the phone cost 207 for us cellular to buy from LG
...
Boy!! US Cellular would be in business for a long time if we sold phones for the same cost we purchase them for. Isn't this why we are in business to make money????
...
Take a look at what you just typed and think about it again.
...
It's called sarcasm..
...
If any business sold their products at the same price they received from the manufacturer their business won't stay in business.. think about it.. Do you think a restaurant charges a meal at the same cost they purchased the food for??
...
but a restraunt does not make 40 dollars a month off of you whether you eat there or not under contractual obligation for 2 years. if i sign a contract for 2 years, i better be getting more than $57 off of a phone.
...
So your saying that we are making $40/month from a customer. So the cost of the service doesn't cost US Cellular anything??
...
My market just got the price increases today.. thats just stupid!! I agree with you alejandro.. I dont agree with the price increase!! Im tired of selling the 262 thats all people buy because its under 50 bucks!!!!!!
...
What do you expect. With the economy the way it is today. Especially when you consider gas prices where they are. Of course they are gonna buy the cheap phone. The prices go up because the price US Cellular has to pay goes up. They can't run promos all the time. They would go broke. Look at the prices of the same phone with other carriers. It's usually higher.
...
ok, now i have a problem with @ss kissers of every company so i am not just talking to you but the motorola v710 has a 250- dollar reduction in cost (not retail) the 265/266 has a 200 reduction in cost. the 6100 (the only phone worth anything and theonly one i feel comfortable selling besides the 4750,444 and 6019 from a customer satisfaction point of view has a $100 reduction in cost, not because of cost, not because of customer service. Why charge a customer more for the 6100? because someone should pay for a phone that actually works? I'm sorry, people can kiss all the ass they want, but I actually care about what is best for the customer, because I don't want them to come back in 3 months to yell at me because the one they should have go...

U.S. Cellular has the right to sell the 6100 for whatever price they want. There are a lot of things to consider when making a price for a phone, it's not just a number that someone decides is going to be the price. Supply and Demand is a huge part of a phones price. At the price it was at sometimes it was hard to keep the phone on the shelf which also made customers very angry when they could not get the phone they want, or have to go to another store to get it. That is not US Cellular's fault, it is just the manufacture doesn't make the supply we need fast enough. The easiest way to fix that is raise the price a little bit. If a customer Really wants/needs the 6100 they will pay the extra money.
...
I'm just angry because it's one of the few phones I actually believe is any good. And no matter my rationale for that it puts any customer at a disadvantage. As for demand, that was not the issue. It was the new box and the orders made. Because the 6100 did not sell any more than any other phone on the shelf the demand is not there for your hypothesis.
...
I just don't understand how you can feel better selling a phone that drops more calls than any other phone U.S. Cellular carries right now. You always say that the motorolas are defective, but they fixed that issue months ago. If someone Does have an older motorola 262/265 with the defect it takes at most 5 min. to fix.
When the 6100 first came out associates heard good things about the phone and were comfortable selling the phone (just when they First came out though). In my particular market there was trouble keeping the phone in stock, that is not to say it was the same for your market. I have never heard an issue with the new box delaying production of the phone, so that is news to me if it is true.
The 6100 price increase is don...

Actually, T-Mobile has 3 free phones. You can get a Nokia for $70 with speakerphone and camera, or a samsung flip phone for $100 with speakerphone and camera.

How can you say anything about customer service when you just said "That actually makes me angry, not as a customer, i don't care." If you wouldn't be angry as a customer, because you don't care, than how can you be angry from a customer point of view.....It's the same thing. That is like a kid working at an ice cream shop buying ice cream, and not caring they increased the price of his favo...

Besides the fact that your analogy takes you completely off track, that is not what i mean when i say i would not be angry as a customer because as a customer i do not need a 6100 because it has too many features and i do not want a camera phone. But when there are 2 camera phones right next to each other and the cheaper one is a defective phone overall it is just that much harder to get the customer the phone they need and to make the sale. It comes down to "do i want to sell a phone" or "Do I want to risk a sale and try the phone that actually works" and that is what makes me angry. That that is the spot I am put into.
...
I really don't know why phones you are talking about only getting 50.00 off the retial price as far as i can see customers get more then just 50 off. LG VX6100 cost 299.95 retail price they pay 99.95 and get a 50.00 mail in rebate that is a savings of 250.00 about. almost all the phones are discounted to some extent. 😕
...
retail is different than actual cost, that is the problem when cost is inflated more than i thought us cellular policy on "retail cost" actually was. and 349.95 for a phone that cost $170 is the worst example of this with us. I understand the need not to sell this phone outright but the options given to existing customers on speedtalk is disgusting at a retail store, thats why our price on that phone remains low enough (but still marked up to $249)
...
my beef its that weve had that phone for about a year now..our stores are full of em...and they bump it up 30?? 😳 verizon has it for 100 with a 50 rebate..50 bucks less
...
What's with the 5000 being cheaper than the 6100. I don't think they have their thinking caps on.
...
I think the 5000 is slightly lower-end compared to the 6100- check out the specs, only 65K color display, different TYPE of display (6100 has TFT, 5000 has STN). i'm guessing that contributed to a lower cost
...
but the 710 cost 400 and it goes for 200, that does not make sense.
...
That's just because of the cpompetition's pricing. It's a neverending batle
...
The 5000 is new. The 6100 is prob on it's way out soon. They always sell the new phones cheaper. It's called marketing.Sell the newer cooler phones cheaper to get people in the stores.

Like I said in an earlier post:
How come on USCC's web site teh same phone is different prices in different markets?
One market a phone is $39.95 with $30 rebate. Net $9.95 COST
In another teh phone is 1 penny and I still get the $30 rebate. I am PAID (that's PAID) $29.99 to take the phone.
3 entry level phones are that way.
...
Cuz in the stores in different markets the phones are different prices. For example, in chicago competition is stiff so they get better plans and phone prices, compared to, say, Oregon
...
Check out the website. I do not know about IL. but in my state that is called false advertising. On the website it clearly states you get the rebate. This is not exactly the same but it is very similar to "Bait and Switch" except with price.
The Rebate either needs to be honored or removed.
...
It doesn't say that if you type in your correct zip code. If you enter where you are looking then it will only give the specials for that area.

I did. go try it yourself then come back and tell me waht you see 😁

I see a phone with the insant $30 rebate that makes the soho a penny. There isn't a mail-in rebate, it's instant and that's all you get. 😁

This is true and thanks for pointing that out. Even so, it should say certain restriction apply, see rebate form for details yada yada yada. Gotta admit this is still pretty poor. It's not exactly rocket science to make this less confusing.
So is it just my market they make you wait 12-14 weeks for your $30 rebate or are there more?
...
They always say it takes 10-12 but I haven't seen any take more than 6-8, and yes it should stipulate that restrictions do apply.
