I noticed today that todays date on the external display looks like this,

Does anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks!

I called Customer Service (tech) last night. They said it was a software problem. Said should take my phone into a USCC store today for the new software. Can any of you USCC employees confirm this??

Thanks!

I'd recommend calling the tech at your store before stopping in to avoid a wasted trip.

Well, looking at howardforums.com, I get the impression that the Tech Team doesn't know too much about what's going on. If they say there are no known issues with the software on the phone, they are the only ones who don't know about this issue.

I awoke this morning to find that the date problem was fixed. I don't have a clue how it happened but the external display date is back to the way it should be (no double date).

i noticed that too, i have no idea how that could be a network problem but apparently it was either that or the razr isn't y2006 compliant : )

USCC is aware of the problem, you may have noticed that it was ok yesterday, and doubled again today. It is a network error.

USCC is aware of the problem but it is NOT a network error. It is related to either a datafill error based on the number of characters and/or pixels on the external display. The fix will involve changing the size of the characters displayed and will involve some sort of update to the handset.

🙄 Well regardless USCC is aware of the problem and is working on a perminant solution.

If an update is needed on the handset then why when USCC did a trial fix mine no longer displayed the date twice??? Then when the day changed it defaulted back to the duplicate display.

Sounds like a network error to me smarty pants. Fancy technical words dont mean the right answer! 🤣

Thanks for the kind words. You certainly seem like a voice of reason and knowledge.

The reason the date keeps changing back and forth is a pixel issue and how many pixels can fit on the external display and to a lesser extent the datafill in how the date field is formatted. This is why the issue did n...

please uscellgirl, no more arguments with fincher because you are only making yourself look incompetent. it has nothing to do with the network. fincher is absolutely right. all of the cdma razrs are having the same problem due to the screens pixels and the length of the date.

yeah, the problem can be found right under the battery, right above the FCC ID, there it says "Motorola"

clearly, a tester should have noticed that.

A little birdie told me the double-date issue will be fixed at the end of January. This issue will occur on the 1st through the 9th of each month from January through September, except for Wednesdays due to the width of the characters.

USCELLGIRL: You go girl! 😁
