Help me understand?
I am eligible to get a new phone at a discounted price in May 2006. Being that I am a little over 2 months away from getting this discount, why wouldn't USCC waive the 2 months and sign me for another 2 years and give me the damn discount. Or I can just pay $150 to cancel my service and go get a free cellular phone somewhere else.

because they made the sacrifice already of 4 months, 80% of your contract is as much as they can possibly do, they already made this predetermination of how much they would give customers, 2 months from your 80% is 6 months, no company on earth will give you 25% of a contract for free. i dont even know any that give you phones before your contract is actually up, even with renewals, besides sprints 1 year discount, which is still more than cost.

Have you already spoken to USCellular Customer Relations and been told that you are unable to renew at this time?
There are many factors taken into consideration before Customer Relations Associates make decisions in regards to waiving that much time and allowing a customer to renew to get a new phone and a new 24-month agreement.
Things to consider would be the length of time that you have been with USCellular (i.e. is this your first contract with us or your 3rd, etc), your payment history, were you allowed to renew early on your last contract, etc. --
But, if you haven't called in and spoken to Customer Relations, then I would suggest that route first and see what they can do for you first.

This is my 1st contract with 2 lines and my payment history is excellent. 😎

I just got off the phone with customer relations and let me say, i'm very impressed. I was offered 2 options: They will either take off 60 days, so I can upgrade in 30 days instead of 90 or I can pay $75.00 to buy out my current contract and upgrade now. Thanks USCC and YouWish for your help. 😉 I'm on my way now to get my LG5000.

look at that, the $75 buyout option, on something so trivial, and some people wanted to to believe it did not exist.
