My contract is coming up at the end of this month and I'm not real sure what phone I want. I really like Nokias, especially the 6235, but I'm not sure if I want bluetooth (waiting for Alejandro to chime in on that). I kinda miss the days when USCC had such a slim phone selection that there was only one obvious choice.
For the experts out there, what phones would you recommend to a customer on the basis of a feature-rich phone with good reception? I am currently considering the v710, the RAZR, the 6235 (what can I say, I like candybar phones), and 6255, but am open to other suggestions.

My vote is for the V710. Except for the poorly designed charging port it's a great phone. Unbeatable reception. Great keypad.
The RAZR is too thin and easy to drop for me.
Come to think of it, why don't you look at the V323? Same reception as V710 but with a better charging port! 😁

If you get the v323 or the v710, make sure they throw in a backpack, so you can carry the phone arround.

I have the V710 and have been very happy with it. It gets excellent reception and does have the capability to upgrade, which the Razr does not. I have added a 512MB chip to mine along with a stereo headset and frequently use it as an MP3 player. I did have to purchase the CD and USB cable from Motorola (was about $30 with shipping) in order to be able to transfer the MP3's to the phone, but I think I've got just about 100 songs on the phone and it eliminates the added expense of having to get one of those iPods or equivalent. The software also allows you to "engineer" your own ringtones, and if you download the special video software from Motorola, you can transfer video back and forth -- but I have not done that as of yet. It's really ...

And for the record... the BlueTooth headset that I have for my 710 works like a dream. The trick is to make sure that before you do ANYTHING with the phone -- don't set up wallpapers, don't set up your voicemail number -- nothing... make sure that the headset has a new battery/or is fully charged, and that the brand new phone has a full 12-hour charge on it, then follow the instructions that come with the BlueTooth headset to "bond" it to the phone.
If you do this, then you truly should not have any problems. If you do -- then it's an easy fix. 🙂
...
blah, that is what you said about the 6100 last year.
...
if it is between the 710 and the razr, the 710 is better because of the memory upgrade posibilities, but you might as well try to sell the bluetooth headset that comes with it and buy a re-chargable one. I can never say anything about the new phones, because i don't like stuff to come back and bite me in the ass. If you go with the nokia utilize the trial period, but if you go with a motorola, manufacturers defects do not appear for about 3-6 months. And I agree on the phone selection, we have too many, buy why are they all camera phones, and i agree on the candybar, i wanted the dorado when i first found out we were getting it, 8 months later i was upset it was a pre-paid only phone.

OMG when people use to complain about our slim phone selection which are we to believe should we go back to 5 phones or not... I think not. I think its better to have a choice and if you'd like my opinon I would say get the Razr because its great and proven to be a good choice.
...
Thanks for all the input. I decided to be a phone fad-boy and order a RAZR.
...
thats fine, just get insurance.
...
Insurance is a must on any phone for me. I've got the worst luck when it comes to phones.
...
And don't ever take crap from the insurance company, they are full of it.
...
I've dealt with them enough times to figure that out. The phone is either lost or got completely destroyed; never stolen or anything that could even remotely be construed as wear and tear or something that the warranty would cover.
...
It's always best to wait to choose a phone. I see you said you ordered the razr. I would of waited to see if we would be getting the udgraded razr with expandable mem. but everybody has their own choice. Be happy with what you pick, because 9 times out of 10 with technology you'll see something else next month that you would want. Thats with anything though, from tv's to mp3 players.
...
i didnt even know they were upgrading the v3c already.
...
I was talking to our aee about it, because right after we got the v3c, I had recieved a seperate email from a completely different business I'm envolved in and he was telling me about the razr with expandable mem and I think it had a flash or something. You can check it on here for info. It's basically a cdma version of the v3i. It's how they do alot of phones, test them on the global standard (gsm) and bring the phones over to cdma.
...
i highly doubt the credibility of that information, so it would best to keep it under wraps and not get anyones hopes up.
...
Well, I thought about waiting, but I'm not too concerned about expandable memory. I totally agree with what you say about technology; if you keep on waiting for the next best thing you will never actually buy anything.
My main thing was that I wanted a pocketable phone that I can sync my contacts and calendar to. This seems to fit the bill. Thanks everyone for their input.
