Nokia 6255 Easy Edge
Hello, Does anyone who has a Niki 6255 know how to get it provisioned for easy edge for associate phone plans? A co-worker of mine just got the phone in and they are telling her she has to send it into NRC to get it done. Is that right and if so why would they send us phones for us to have to send it right back out????

Hello, The 6255 needs to be hooked up to a computer by a tech and the provisioning needs to be installed manually. There is no option to program the handset through the typical programming menu. I was advised that Nokia created this extra step to prevent people from leaning the provisioning to the employee server and stealing free data usage. With this explaination, I am not sure why it is so easy to provision handsets from other manufacturers, however, this was the route that I had to go down as I am a 6255 owner. Hope this helps. Just to clarify, it is not necessary to send to NRC as long as you have a tech with updated software in your area.

most service shops can do it but you have to hook it up to the computer like motorola phones. I have done several but it depends on your tech/service shop. Talk to your local tech and you should be ok.
