Is it really that different? Reading the posts here (and maybe I'm mistaken) but most of the complaints seem to be coming out of retail reps. So, back to my original question, what's so different about the two?
...
why would you want to start a fight like that?
...
I don't see it as a fight. Retail are directly employed by USCC. The phones they keep in stock are paid for by USCC, not the manager of the store. All the accessories in the store are paid for by USCC, not the manager. The manager didn't have to write a check out of his personal account to get computers, furniture or displays into his store. Plus they have a completely different computer system than we do and they can do things in the system that agents cannot.
Agents own their own store, they have to buy each and every phone and accessory whether it sells or not, and they have to pay for display and storage of all that stuff. When a phone gets stolen or dropped and broken, they have to buy another one and don't get reimbersed for ...

Said so beautifully. 😁
but to start the fight.. Agents are better. 🤤
...
I won't fight with you on that one, being that I'm an agent myself.

It Really depends on where you go. In our town there are 4 stores here and 3 of them are Cellular
Specialist and the other 1 is OT Communications.
Now the Cellular specialist have three stores one at our mall and one at a car economy lot and one at a regular car lot. the people at the mall Are DUMB ****S. the ones at the car lots are good though. The OT Communications Also sux and rip you off any chance you get. Like i said it all depends on where u go.

You can say the same thing about corporate stores. I haven't noticed it so much with USCC, but Verizon and Cingy have big problems with the same thing.
...
I do know that agents have leway with pricing, or at least ours stores do....for example on single lines 49.99 and higher if you sign up for EE we CAN give you an extra $20 instant rebate, so the RAZR would then be $100 with a $50 mail in rebate..
...
thats probably just your boss giving them his easyedge commission.
...
That instant rebate is a personal decision by your manager/owner to take a loss on the phone. We don't have a way to get refunded if we charge less than we are supposed to. But we can sell a RAZR for a penny if I don't mind taking a loss on it.

Agents crack me up. Retail store alway have to clean up there messes they create. Telling customers the wrong information. Screwing up there accounts. forgetting to add incoming calls, N&W, Mobile to Mobile. Not to mention LOANER PHONE that agents never have. Oh and you don't pay for your phone U.S. Cellular does.... if you sell them. Plus if you read your rebate for it does say if you add ee you get a $50 rebate not a $30 rebate!
...
"Agents crack me up" Crack was a good choice for wording, cuz you gotta be on somethin..
"Retail store alway have to clean up there messes they create" I've also had to clean up quite a few messes, caused by agents AND retail store employees..
"Screwing up there accounts. forgetting to add incoming calls, N&W, Mobile to Mobile"
Um i can speak for other agents, but we use AIM and its not possable to "forget" to add N&W,M2M,ETC if its a feature on their price plan it automatically applied..
"Oh and you don't pay for your phone U.S. Cellular does" What are you talking about??
".... if you sell them" I assume this is your attempt at humor...Weak!
"Plus if you read your rebate for it does say if you add ee you get a $50 rebate not a $30 reb...

Get 'em! I hate how ignorant some retail employees are. I also like to add that here (not saying where) we ALWAYS have loaners.. Thank you very much.. I would also like to add that the relationship between my agent location and the retail store only a few blocks away is awesome! We love the retail store and they love us. Maybe someone needs to work on getting along with agent locations and take time to understand the real differences between the two.
...
What are you talking about?!? US Cellular does not pay for my phone! Please take the crack pipe out of your mouth...

I will admit to having made 3, count em I have, 3 mistakes that corporate and Customer Service has had to fix in the 2 years I have been an agent. I have had to fix 13 mistakes that the corporate store made before they got kicked out of Walmart a few months ago. In fact, CS calls our store because the corporate stores and other agent stores are out of loaners or never had them in the first place. Geez, take a chill pill.
