When is U.S. Cellular going to get on board with EVDO Rev 0 or A like the rest of the CDMA wireless carriers and offer data services with connection cards for laptops? Seems like U.S. Cellular is still using mules while the rest of us are using stallions to pull our chariots.

five years from now when verizon throws it in the trash, us cellular will be there to rummage through their dumpster, taking all their outdated technology along with all the old discontinued phones at the bottom

but wait...after they pull that trash out of the dumpster, they need to "test" it for another 6 months to see if it will work with our network first. If its a cool phone by any means, it goes right back in the dumpster. If it sucks, we'll sell it.

Yup, but if you want a carrier that actually works where we are, then you forgo all that strange stuff that just helps your teens run up your bill. I just hate it when we get a phone that can do all that cool stuff, like video, but we don't have the service to support it.

Because it works. I don't know about where you are, but around here, if you aren't carrying a USCC, you aren't talking reliably. Also, data services are hit and miss around here, so nobody really cares if they can get mobile ESPN, as long as they can call when they need to.

uscc has good coverage but they do lock out some feature that were builted into your phone.they do this like some other carriers so that they can sell you brew apps to make more money off of you and this just wrong its steeling from you.

I agree, however, I think there is a way for them to block sending and recieving ringtones and games without stopping all transfers from bt or infrared. It's just a little lazyness on USCC's part. There's got to be a way to turn that kind of thing back on!

USCC isn't the only one that does this. Other carriers do this as well. Its just a way carriers make sure they can sell THEIR data products not the phone manufacturers.

By the way, EVDO Rev A. will be launching in Milwaukee next month.

Yes, and if past history holds true, if enough customers scream, kick and yell about it, they will change what they lock out. I'm just hoping all these new bluetooth phones are able to do object push, and data transfer. Most of my custies don't really care about that, but the day is coming when people will care.
