Nam 1 vs Nam 2 / Two Phone Bluetooth?

Hey Everyone i got two questions.

1. I am an agent with a personal and work line. I was wondering why all phones we carry have both a nam 1 and a nam 2 program area. Does that allow the phone to be used with two numbers. I would love to have a phone that supports both of my lines. I dont think it is possible but thought I would ask.

2. Is there a bluetooth device that would allow you to link with two diffrent phones.
(this would be real useful)

Thanks for the help

Knoxvegas,

USC disables the NAM1 NAM2 option in all their phones. I am not sure if any carriers support this anymore. I have heard that Sprint used to but not sure anymore.

As far as question 2, yes there are devices out there that support two different links.

Check out the Cardo Scala 700. If you want to buy one I can supply them to you.

I checked out the c-net review of the headset and it said it has swaping technology for switching between two phones. Will it recognize a call from one vs a call from another or will i have to hear my phone 2 ring and switch the bt to it?

Even if the nam 1 2 is disabled i still cant overide it by programing the second line in the nam 2 spot. It is a diffrent carrier's phone so i can get them to link to the esn as well as us cellular already is. Will it still not work or is just because it is a locked feature.

It won't work because its a locked feature and must be supported by the carriers switch.

Check this link out for the Cardo:

Nam 1, nam 2 options are not diabled, the odds of getting another company to activate your phone on would be the hard part, i dont know if it is possible, but when i activate a verizon phone on an account i have to program it as nam2 or else the phone will say roaming when it is not.

I guess what I meant is that it is not a supported feature. Need to make myself clearer! 😁

SO let me understand this when u program a verizon phone it goes under nam 2 to work correctly. A uscc phone is programed under nam 1. so hypotheticaly i could buy an Unlocked cdma phone (krazr) and put both my uscc under nam 1 and my verizon under nam 2 and tell both companies my esn and unless a problem on activation occures it should work then.

Theoretically. I don't know if it would work in application.

Theoretically, just about anything is possible. Hey, AL! I have a question for you. Now that the 6255 is not going to be replaced or repaired, does that mean that maybe Nokia would give me the instructions to unlock my phones so that I can record my own ringtones?

Send different e-mails telling them you have a different company, When i sent the e-mail on my 5550 they said their contract with us cellular didnt allow them to help me with that, when i e-mailed them telling them i would only buy the 355 if i could they told me they could, they just dont have software for it yet, only the cable.
