why give them the tools when they JUST WON'T USE THEM?
we keep getting customers from another store coming down to transfer their phonebooks from phone to phone. not really a big deal, and i don't mind doing it, but it's frustrating to see people activate at another store then come to ours to just do their contacts. so i emailed one of their workers all the information and everything to update their CelleBrite transfer machine.
....that was like...a month ago. and nothing has happened. apparently they just "haven't gotten around to it."
maybe they should just send some of their customers my way, ya know, to free up time so they can "get around to it."

Are you an agent store? Then start charging a $5 or $10 fee for phonebook xfers for customers who didn't buy their phones or plans thru your particular store. View this as a business opportunity! 😉

Don't do the transfers! I won't do them unless they hand me a $10. You paid close to $800 for that silly machine, you should charge as often as you can get away with.

we have never charged and most likely never will. i feel bad if i charge people for things that are somewhat effortless, especially since we are not really supposed to charger [by this i mean my boss doesn't require us to]. i guess i am just what you would call "really nice" and a "pushover" at times, so i feel so guilty if i feel like i am ripping someone off.

That's because you didn't pay for your machine out of your pocket. If you had to lay out almost $800 then you would charge as often as you could.

true, i definitely would.

We are an agent and have one of the new transfer machines that does pics and ringtones too. But for some reason no matter what we do updates and what, we cannot get the damn thing to do Candids or the A850. We send our customers to the local retail store when they have those particular phones.
Crystal I think you are right to not charge the cust because it is effortless. Starting a war with another store is not going to solve the problem either and then the customer suffers. Maybe ask your boss to call the boss at the other location and start invoicing the other store for the transfers and for ware and tear on your machine and cables...dont charge the customer. Its not their fault.

they do that at this store in our town there are 3 "CELLULAR SPECIALIST" so when people would by phones from the other ones the would say go to the mall they will do it for you. So the one at the mall started making the pay 5 bucks if they didnt buy the phone there. Any one want to guess what happened.
people took their phones backa and bought them there. so the other store went and bought machines.
you shouldnt feel bad for charging prople to transfer contacts. it's a waste of your time and if a store told somebody to come to my store to transfer phonebooks i would tell them to head right back there and have them figure it out
