I called 411 this morning and was given the incorrect number to the location I was lookign for. I had to call back and a nice girl said that she could not find the number that I was looking for, which is my apartment complex, this is not a new building or anything, she just could not find it. Anway, she said that she would credit me back for both calls since she could not assist..... I called 611 just to verify... I was only told that 411 was a flat 1.29 fee and on the second call while she was researching, I was charged 2.49 for that call alone..... So 611 told me I was pretty much up a creek... Is there anything that you could do? I don't call 411 that much, but when I do, I expect to get the correct info or be compensated, they are telling me to call 411 again to get it corrected with them, and all along I will still be charged to get incorrect charges removed....

Thanks.

My experience was with VoiceStream (T-Mobile) when I first had to get a pre-pay phone years ago, and I have ever since warned any and everybody that it is cheaper to call a friend or family member and have them drag out a phone book !
I will even pull of the highway and make myself late for an appointment to find a 7-11 to borrow a phonebook !
My arguement with customer service was the exact arguement you had but they gave me the wrong number twice and it took a third time to get it right and that charge was more than the other two because I insisted the agent confirm the #...
