Got the 8300 tethered via the data cable, couldnt get the bluetooth connection to work, but no biggie, thanks a lof for those links by the way.

One more question for you (or anybody else for that matter), I know that I should know this but by thethering it does it just use your minutes (nights and weekends free?)

Obviously blatent excessive use of this would cause trouble so I will avoid it.

nice job- Thats my understanding too it just uses your regular minutes, and as long as you fly low you should be fine. I have never done it myself did you just use the data cable and power up a laptop? Did it just recognize your 8300 as the modem and then you were g2g?

No, I literally followed the instructions in the 2nd link you posted step by step.

I tried doing the bluetooth thing for about 2 hrs and couldnt get it to connect, so I switched to an old LG 7000 cable that I had laying around and shaved the bottom off with an exacto knife, plugged it in, followed the set up steps in the link you posted, and volia! EVDO speed internet.

Thanks bro!

Are you boys fannagling the system? Shame on you. You should do an ESN change to a 9800 and see if you can tether for free with that phone. ๐Ÿ‘€

I'd love it if someone made a rugged PDA phone. I know they make rugged PDAs but not phones.

Well, Im sure they are thinkg "how many blue collar people need PDA'S"?

Most people that use PDAs are white collar office people that have no use for a rugged phone. In fact, in the 7ish years I have been doing this, I have never had a request for one.

I could use one, for the same reason you want a GZONE. So I can use my phone in harsh conditions. You own a phone store, but you have a rugged phone. That doesn't make you a blue collar worker. I simply would like to merge a GZONE and a Treo, so I can bring my phone with me at the beach, but have a PDA for Internet, email, syncing, etc.

Oh, im not saying YOU dont need one, Im just saying that the majority of people who want/need a rugged phone are not white collar people, I completely understand the need for a rugged phone, I use mine when im out fishing, you need it for the beach, but most people who need a rugged phone, need it because of where the work, thats all. ๐Ÿ˜‰

They do make regular PDAs that are rugged though. Thats what puzzles me. I think it's for like Construction formen, who want a PDA but need a tough one.
