My 815 died, what should I replace it with:
Motorola 325i
LG 8600
KRZR
Samsung 930
Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

i would say.. 8300 😁
do you use vcast? if not then v325i is great.
depends what you are using it for.

My preference:
LG 8600 - style/performance
LG 8300 - performance
Motorola 325i - performance/RF
KRZR-Fire - simply STYLE
Samsung 930 - price

I would say get the LG VX8600. That's what I have, and I love it. However, if you used your speakerphone a lot, I would go with the LG VX8300. Don't get a KRZR. They're awful. In the first week, my store sold 6 of those phones. The following week, 5 of those came back with problems. Stay away from that one like the plague.

I dig the 8600. Great inside display and form factor. I also think LG's a pretty reliable. While I don't recommend it, I did wash my 8100 in Sept and after a few days drying, it worked and still does. I don;t expect all to do that but I think LG has a good shot at reliability.

Thanks for the help, I think I'm leaning towards the 8600. Do you thinks its reception and battery life is similar to the 815
...
Reception, yes. Don't know about battery life. I had the V710 (the E815's predecessor) and any LG I've had, the battery life was as good as that.

I do not think there is a phone out there that is going to match the E815 as far as reception (particularly in fringe areas). Out of the choices you offer, I like the Samsung A930 because of features and price. It is a great phone just sort of anonymous for some reason. I have never seen one returned though. I like the 8600 because it so stylish but I have seens some battery issues (maybe five or so returned, but it could have been operator error). My personal favorite didn't make you list...the VX8300. GREAT PHONE!

My preferences are the s930 and lg 8600 for vcast phones. If you just want a simple durable phone go with the moto 325i.

I'm just a business guy who travels a lot (big cities, mostly, but can get rural in the outlying areas).
I just use phones as phones. As far as that goes, I get plenty of talk time and excellent reception out of the KRZR. I almost got an 815 for that purpose, but liked how small the KRZR is, since I am never without it, and it was a great choice.
This may be the best phone I've ever used from a signal standpoint, and have only had it since the first day it was out, so any quality issues really haven't had time to show themselves. I don't have a case for it, so it probably gets banged around too much, and my BT headset (850) works better with it than my previous phones ever did. Easier to set up, link, intelligibility, etc.
Can't...
