Customer service nightmare

DO NOT deal with Verizon Wireless unless you're willing to endure continuous calling if you try to close your account.

Last week, shortly after telling Verizon's sales person I was switching to T-Mobile because their Customer Service is a disaster, I began getting three to five calls each day that hang up as soon as I answer. Doing a *69 revealed they were coming from 1-800-470-0768, Verizon Wireless' number. Calling a supervisor (Jasen) resulted in an apology and him putting me on their Do Not Call list, which he says won't take effect for 30 days. He also said this is a "known problem with Verizon's auto-dialer" for which Verizon has no solution. It's only noon and so far today I've gotten three calls from them, two hangups and an...

I think all companies have good points and none are perfect. I tried Verizon and switched back and they sent me bill after bill with wrong amount on it. Another funny thing is that every other month the amound due was different.

Several calls later, the bill was fixed. It was a pain but the reps were all really nice. I tried them later on when I was having trouble with another carrier and they added a line under my name that wasn't even my number. They fixed that as well.

Their billing dept might not be all that but they were nice and friendly. Good luck I wish you the best.

I don't know what 10 penny nails is. ๐Ÿ‘€

It is a big nail.

a term that indicates a nail that is three (3.0) inches (7.6 centimeters) long. "Ten-penny" is abbreviated as "10d" and applies to common, box, casing, and finishing nails. The term originates from the price per hundred nails; 10 pennies for 100 three-inch nails.

You may personally have had bad experiences with VZW customer service, but they are ranked as high if not higher than T-Mobile. If I were leaving them, it would be because someone else offered a better deal, or I needed it for my work (such is my own case).

Not trying to belittle your problem, but I know folks who had T-Mobile, also ranked high in terms of customer service, who also have similar stories as you. The bottom line; you can have a bad experience anywhere you go.

I say the worst is by far Cingular.

Sprint CS is awful, too. Sometimes when I use 611 from my Nextel phone, I occasionally will get patched through to Sprint CS. They are slow and take forever to resolve issues. I usually hang up and call back using my Nextel corporate # and wait less than two minutes, and get whatever issue resolved quickly.

I hope they keep Nextel's customer service reps and dump theirs, most of whom can't speak English or figure out what to do for you, especially if you are an IDEN customer.

I heard Sprint has a lot of outsourcing.

Yes. This is one way they can afford to offer more minutes and roaming to their customers. My own experience has been one of getting a lot more minutes for less money per month, but the down side has been that the Sprint name has ruined Nextel's reputation.

I believe a lot of Sprint's problems are due to a bad public image, partly because of bad advertising and marketing, but also their outsourcing of CS. When you have a problem with your wireless phone and/or service, the last thing in the world you want is to spend 45 minutes on the phone waiting, trying to get some answers, and dealing with folks who speak little or no English, and can't understand you or vice versa.

One thing that has kept Verizon, T-Mobile, and formerly Nextel on ...

Just kidding, I don't work for Cingular.

Anyway, I'm surprised to hear that. I haven't heard that complaint before. Sucks that you're having trouble with them. I haven't had any problems with Verizon since I started their service several years ago.

Verizon are thieves, Cingular's working for the Mafia, Sprint lies, and T-Mobile, well, there just a bunch of cursed foreigners. I'm posting a thread very soon linking all four carriers to the Kennedy assassination.

With the help of all my friends who publish those reliable web blogs, I'm posting evidence that links all four carriers, not only to the JFK murder, but to 911. I have proof that these guys conspired with the hijackers to crash the twin towers and Pentagon.

The Apollo moon landing? A hoax as well. Perpetrated by these cellular saboteurs to create the very businesses they now run. It's all a big conspiracy by the man, to keep us average citizens in the dark.

They didn't kill Trotsky, just started calling him "Shlotzsky" instead. Now, every time you eat a sandwich there, you're supporting the conspiracy!
