Customer Service Experience

DoubleHelix

Well guess what? I have a good experience to report.

I recently dropped and shattered my T Mobile Blackberry which meant I had to get it replaced. My administrative assistant suggested I take the Blackberry from Jimmy Joe, the guy who quit to take another job. Not being thrilled about that and knowing that Jimmy was in essence a slob, I resisted. She won. I have Jimmy's 7103e with its severely scratched screen and very unreliable shift button and sticky keys.

Today it became intolerable and I went into a VZW company store. They took one look at it and commented my account, had me call Customer Care and I now have a FRU winging its way to me at no cost.
That to me is priceless great customer care.
A lot of people in here lik...

I agree, so many of the posts here are too often bit-h sessions so I thought I'd share a good one.

Now watch, with my luck when the box arrives it will be a "rock box". That's what in New York City we call a mail order fulfillment where you send for something and as a bait and switch effort, they send you a box filled with broken pieces of sheet rock to make you think you are getting what you ordered. Until you open it.....lol 😲
Naaahhh, just kidding, it will be better than the Blackberry I have.

Ha ha that's funny! To date we have never done that to a customer I can assure you, but stranger things have happened in the world... 😉

Make sure you send the bad phone back! I'm sure they told you in the store, but you'll probably have to use the battery on the old one, that's how field replacement units come usually. There is a return label for FedEx, use that lable keep the number starting with 8 for your records. FedEx will come by to pick it up if you call them or you can drop it off at any of their locations.

Yes The rep I dealt with on the phone was extremely helpful and explained that. New one comes without the battery or any accessories etc.
I need to call VZ when the new one arrives, then do a *228 -1 to move the phone service and then call my company to get my activation code to change everything on the server.
Then I am going to do a security re-set of the old one to wipe the one I am sending back.
By the way the store that deserves the award is the brand new one in East Northport, Long Island New York, along with the rep in New Jersey at customer care.

A lot of people in here like to bash VZW but it is all in how you present yourself, talk to them and you'll get great treatment, backed by a company who cares.

Kudos to VZW for this one.

This is so true!!!

and I was even willing to pay for the FRU ($50.00 I believe) but they insisted on the FreeFRU...lol
I was just about ready to send away to a company in Houston that will send you a new case with a clear lens for 79.99 plus shipping but that would not have taken care of the stuck keys. I don't know what the guy who had it before me did with it and I don't want to know... 😉

Today the FRU arrived and I know they do a good job re-furbishing these things but I could swear it is a new model.
Just sent the old one back via FedEx so I don't have the bounty hunters after me...lol

Very satisified with this new one. Activated it online automatically and then did the Enterprise Activation through my company. Whole process took 15 minutes total.
