I think that cingular waiting to merge when LNP was going on was a bad idea. Customers who lose their price plans or options that they had with each company will lose that loyalty they had and will not have to worry about losing their number when they leave the sinking ship. Frankly, Cingular took on too much water, or should we say dead weight.

That's a very fact filled statement i'm sure... There's never anything wrong w/ competition and there's always a good possibility... as miraculous as it sounds... just what if... Cingular does not drop the ball like everyone expects?

It's funny, because Cingular is counting on being under-estimated by the dunder heads who work for the "competition". We keep our knowing smiles and can't wait to see the look on VZW's bloated sad face when they get to be introduced to the number 2. Reminds me of Sesame Street. "This program has been brought to you by the number 2". Learn to love it VZW. You may be number one now, but even Mike Tyson got Knocked out a few times. See.... VZW, much like Tyson, only wins when they don't have STRONG competition. Cingular will re-define the term STRONG COMPETITION.

If the merger goes through... Cingular will actually have the #1 Network, and a customer base of approx 46 million which is also more than Verizon... Just clearing things up.

Yeah... VZW hates MATH. Cingular has roughly 26 million and ATTWS has roughly 20 million. They think they can muster up 5 million customers this month. Who knows? The way they do math, they probably will SAY they have 57 million next month. đ

no doubt...I think good word of mouth by customers after day zero will cause a reaction...either vz will change to be competitive w plans and billing or customers will switch...no matter how much they run their repetitive ads. 2nd and 3rd qtr numbers for FY2005 will be the telltale.

I am not predicting what will happen, I am not a fortune teller. But I do disagree w/ VZW already cutting The New Cingular before it's been formed... VZW reps forget Cingular is only 3 and 1/2 years old and has reached #2. Cingular is not incompetent and there's a very good chance that if anyone can pull off a merger of this magnitude; Cingular is one of them.
