Verizon Guy Paul Marcarelli Sued for Telephone Harassment
By Phil Maggitti
BREWSTER, NY - Paul Marcarelli, better known to millions of television viewers as "the Verizon guy," has been sued for sexual harassment and making terroristic threats by telephone. According to Richardson, 28, she is the person to whom Marcarelli is speaking in the Verizon ads. Moreover, she alleges that Marcarelli, 37, has made hundreds of additional off-camera calls to her Brewster townhouse and to Brewster Realty, where she is employed...

After reading this at work yesterday, a Customer came in upset about his phone. He starts quoting the commercials, "Can you hear me now?" Me and the tech just looked at each other and about died. Cheers for the laughs!

i think chad from alltell finally talked the other guys into a top secret mission taking him out. this is just the result of chad texting him to stop calling and paul just returning the text with another call breathing heavy and asking "do you fear me now? 😈 could be another reason alltell is selling "chad wanted for murder"

While this is off-topic, but I spotted online that Chad is in a Hardees commercial. Wonder if he's preparing himself for other line of work, with Alltel looking to sell. 😕

Some of the Alltel ads can be funny but I don't think the smug hipster angle is a great strategy. If you were going to plunk down a few hundred on handsets and #100 a month for the 3-4 phones for the the family, would you want to go to Chad?

It is that kind of marketing connection people make. It's a spokesperson and that strongly identifies with the product.

The goofing on other carriers can be funny (the xmas Cingular guy tackling someone was priceless..) but Chad is not the man to do it.
