Longtime ATTWS Customer jumps to Verizon...

Had TDMA service with ATTWS dropped every call (Pittsburgh, PA area). Switched to Verizon (Moto V710) on 9/21, ATTWS sends me a mailing asking me to come back. Call the number to see what kind of deal I could get (9/27). Checked into some of the phones available at ATTWS (GSM), called back today only to find out the deal that was offered to me on 9/27 was no longer valid. Why didn't the ATTWS Rep tell me that the promo was ending this week? She was supposed to give me a call back on 9/28 after I had a chance to check out the phones and never did. It's really too bad, I've been a loyal ATTWS customer for 8 years and got my parents and brother to sign up with ATTWS over a year ago.
So far very happy with my Verizon service, the Moto V710 pho...

Don't know if the offer is the same, but I'll tell you what AT&T tried to offer me.

First, I recently started a job with Verizon Wireless, however, I was still stuck on a two-year contract with AT&T. I couldn't wait to leave - I've been counting down the days since about a year into the contract. My job with VZW was incidental, but nice nonetheless - I was going to go to Verizon service anyway.

So September 20th was the big day. September 21st (to avoid any confusion with AT&T), I ported my number to Verizon. Yesterday I received a mailer from AT&T asking me to come back. The deal was: add 300 minutes to my plan no matter what I was on, a $75 credit on my bill, and a "free" phone (piece of junk phones). I also had the choice to s...

An enemy?! That's a little extreme isn't it. All we tried to do was retain a customer. You had the option of saying no which you exercised very well. I must be missing how we turned you into an enemy in the process. Not that it matters, your no longer a customer and never will be again by the sounds of it.

I don't think it is really a bad thing. ATTWS CSR was doing their job to regain a lost customer. All the carriers do this.

What I think the issue was (and this is going by what was posted) is that the rep may have sounded like a whiner and the hang-up on customer. I have had ATTWS CSR's call my old house number to bring me back to ATTWS. When I told them what wireless service I had they started to DISPARAGE (bad mouth) my carrier! Yeah you talk crap about the other companies like the way that particular rep does, it makes your company look petty and jealous. ☚ī¸

Granted I myself had a absolutely miserable experience with ATTWS customer care about a year ago when I was with CC. They charged me roaming on a nationwide plan, would not fix ...

When you said this were you refering to me, saying I talk bad about other wireless providers, or did I misunderstand your post?

If I read the previous post correctly, he was referring to the rep on the phone, not this forum.

If he would have said Yeah, when you talk crap about the other companies like the way that particular rep does, it makes your company look petty and jealous, it would have indicated the rep on the phone. Since he did not include the word when, it read, Yeah you talk crap about the other companies like the way that particular rep does, it makes your company look petty and jealous, it indicates whoever the post was directed at. Since I made the previous post, I was just asking him if he was refering to me. How do I know if he overlooked a word or not. I was not trying to pick a fight because I've never insulted or spoke down about another company. I have no reason to. If he meant that that particular rep made AT&T look bad by talking sh*t abo...

Yup it was my mistake. I meant to type in "Yeah when the rep" not "Yeah when you".

Sorry about the confusion!
