What is with Verizon and their rates?

kicko

It seems every time you blink Verizon changes rates. Yesterday I got an email stating the text rates were going to .15 cents and that they added new $15 & $20 plans if the $10 was not enough. In an industry where the money is made on who has the best and most to offer it just doesn't make sense to me. I been with Vrerizon for a bit and i just have not seen any better rates or plans, just more money and more restrictions.

Seriously, the guys in this forum drink WAY to much red kool-aid. Sprint's network is great and my friends who have verisuck are starting to realize they are getting the ol' shaft (read a$$ raped) from the big red v. In reality verizon's network is no different, "it's the marketing." 🙄

hey you can pay sprint money to provide you with unlimited text and minutes that won't work everytime you try to use them, sounds like a great deal!

when people state that sprint service sucks they are referring to the total picture not just the network. I had a customer porting in from sprint last week and they were on the phone for 20 minutes on hold befre they got help to get their account number. Anytime I call Verizon cusotmer care i get someone in less than a minute when i hit 0. Network is one thing, but just whaite until you have a problem that you need to get sprint customer care to help you with, that is where you will really start noticing the difference. You can claim any service is great if it is wotking well, but you need to judge what they do for you when it is not!

That's why when opportunities like this come along, it the chance for customers who are pissed to get out. See this thread for more info on how.

At the end of the day, it's great marketing, it pushes people who don't have text plans into text if they get a certain amount of text a month. If you get around 30 text msgs, you're better off w/ at least the $5 plan.

And everytime you make a change to your account, the counter restarts for another 12 or 24 month contractual period.

The employees who spend most of their days on this website will soon jump all over this thread, because people point out the obvious way Verizon (as well, most of the major carriers) exploit ...

Changing features does NOT extend your contract.

You are correct...only changing the calling plan or replacing equipment at a discount will renew contract periods.

Verizon is not the first to raise their text rate to 15 cents and I'm sure not the last. Yes it sucks if you do pay per use. If you use that many that it makes a difference maybe a text package would have been a good idea before the change. If your on a text/pix package then the overage rate stays at 10 cents.
What is the problem with adding a $15 and a $20 package. Oh wait vzw had those before and they actually are giving more text/pix for the same price. For $15 you get an extra 500 messages, and the $20 package doubled. What is wrong with that.

nothing, everyone just liek to complain. Oh and tmobile just bumped their text to .15 as well, so that is all the major carries now. So you want to leave over a optional service, well your rate will be the same with the other guys so just suck it up, and if you use the service then just buy a package, they start at $5
