I live near the base of a mountain (near Palm Springs) with difficult reception. My LG4400 has performed fairly well, but it is old and the sound quality (incoming and outgoing) is now poor, and battery life is now very short. I upgraded to the Audiovox 9900. The phone did well until I neared my home. Mostly no signal, or very weak signal. I returned the phone. I own a SOHO and deal with elderly clients (I'm a nurse and also travel to some remote areas). My needs: voice quality must be clear, good reception, tri-mode (probably), ability to use with laptop for internet (a Mac using Smith-Micro PowerLink). Very desirable features: good clear speakerphone for car use, ability to transfer calendar contacts from a Palm T3. Camera is opt...

I am to assume that you have Verizon.

Um I don't know of a LG-VX6100 OR a motorola v810 for Verizon.

I know that the moto V710 would work fine. It is a tri-mode phone. It has rediculously fantastic sound quality. It does have a camera but again using it is optional. You can synch the unit with a wireless headset or wireless speaker unit through bluetooth. (granted the phone has speakerphone built in). As to synching it with a pc for contacts I don't know about that.

If the VX6100 is what I think it is.. then it is the VX6000. I wouldn't recommend that phone in your area simply because it is a dual-band (digital) phone only.

Verizon is coming out with the VX6100... This phone is the next in line after the 6000. The phone is a tri mode phone with a speaker and independent voice dialing with digit dial on it as well. I work for VZW and it is on our info manager site which means is should be coming out in the next 2-3 months. Also VZW has taken the vx6000 off the website which means they are fazing it out. Hope this helps with your decision. I am a big fan of LG good RF and very easy to use...

Thanks for the advice. Yes, I've been with Verizon for years. Am a little afraid of the the Motorola V710 due to all the complaints I have read about it. The V810 and the LX6100 are shown as "tentative" but not yet released for Verizon.

Yeah no release date as of yet it just says "coming soon" and we all know how VZW is with releasing phones 🙄 But I would suggest the LG. Motos have problems at roll out usually...

Thanks to both of you for your input. Will try the LG 6100 if it comes out before this old 4400 completely stops working. 🙂
