This is kind of a long story, but I would REALLY appreciate any help you can give me.

I bought a KRZR K1m back in early November, and am now on my third one, having returned each previous phone because of defects. Now the phone I currently have randomly locks up WHILE I'm answering or dialing a number, forcing me to lose the call.
Recently, the phone has also begun to reset my ring tone for calls to "No Ring" so that my only indications I receive of a call is the alert beep two minutes after i missed the call and the screen, which is of no use to me while it's in my pocket.

After three crappy ones, they should be able to give ya a different phone (I know, because I went through 3 Motorola Q's in 12 days). Try a different store. That's what I had to do.

the manufacturer's warranty is suppposed to deal with this . . .

obviously it has not for you. After +/- 4 months, a new/DIFFERENT phone without lotsa $$ would be a suprise to me. let us know what happens; if you are able to weasel through the system, that'll be something we can pass on to other custies.

Escalate your concern to a District Manager if the Store Manager is not accomodating...just follow upwards until you get satisfaction. As long as your concerns are valid, there should be an equitible solution.

This is typical Motorola, if you go with an 8300, or 8600 you will be MUCH more satisfied, I know this doesnt answer your inital question but remember this for future phone purchases. NO MOTO!

Drop that POS Horrorola for a Sony Ericsson honey! Oh wait! You'd have to go GSM to get your hands on the best manufacturer of phones...

If you decide to stick with Vz for whatever reason "that" may be... just don't choose motorola....
