For instance.....since I am a St. Louis guy....and I partake in my fair share of AB products....I browsed on over to www.budlight.com and proceeded to d/l some ring tones that they seem to be offering for free on their website. However, to my shock and awe I saw that Verizon Wireless is the only company that is not compatible. Why is that?!

Because verizon blocks most all third party content.

Hey gunny! does Vz block you from having Opera Mini on your phone? I was trying to walk my sister over the phone, but she couldn't get it on her Vx8000 ๐Ÿคจ

I guess complaining does make a difference...I was able to get our a "supervsior" a $10 credit to the get it now store.

He proceeded to inform me that Verizon Wireless does not like to use 3rd part applications that they do not have "agreements" with because they pride themselves on being a very secure network and having most of the federal contracts when it comes to wireless service.

Do you think I care about this "crap"....all Im interested in is getting as much as possible for as little amount of money as I can get it for.

How did that make a diff? You got a $10 credit. You STILL cannot get a 3rd application on your phone. Verizon still doesn't think that you should be able to have/use 3rd party applications as Opera Mini and the like... and probable never will.

As for the $10 credit (if you ask me) that's Verizon's way to have you to stop "bothering" them about the issue. And the whole "Federal contract" and "secure network" is nothing but good and plain BS. If the Feds wanted to give their business to a "secure network as Verizon's" then they would had never considered Cingular to begin with.

download a program from bitpim.org, and you can make your own ringtowns and transfer them to your phone.
