Does anyone know, why is Verizon releasing new phones with only 1x EV-DO RELEASE 0 data capability, when the network in many places is already upgraded to handle the faster 1x EV-DO Revision A speeds?
Is it simply a software upgrade that allow it connect to the higher speed network? Or is it dependent on the phone's hardware?

what's the point? So you can upload a pix msg in 2 seconds instead of 3?

I could see if you used Tethered access with a Mobile Office Kit but you problably wont see a Rev A Handset until end of 07 or beginning of 08, besides the coming PDA's that is.

I simply don't want to get a PDA yet because of the size, but having a smaller phone connected to a laptop would be nice.
