Rev A Phones...

Hi

As everyone here knows that rev a evdo is out already for some time on aircards even rev b is on the way later this year, so how come there are no rev a capable phones out yet? any vzw guys have any insight on this???

They are trying to wait as much as possible and to continue to sell REV O phones and to exhaust that revenue before they work on REV A and REV B. You will probably not see REV B devices for a while. That is how business works.

They probably don't want people tethering. I think they are emphasizing the laptop cards.

The first phones to get it will be PDA's as they will get the most benefit from the upgrade. Phones at some point will get the upgrade, more than likely for PTT application. That is if Verizon chooses to relaunch PTT. The first time wasn't exactly successful.

Eventually phones will get the upgrade, but not for awhile

The 2nd launch wasn't either. 3rd times a charm... so they say. Probably why VZW is trying to build out Rev A as quick as possible.

Rev A PDA should start coming out in june/july, phone will probably be early 08
...
