Insurance Question
rtx

I have a phone (the Q) that has gone crazy. It locks up, reboots itself, slow to respond to button commands ...
I do have insurance but how does it work? Will they fix my phone or replace it? Also, if they are unable to fix it will I receive a refurb Q or a new one?
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Just bring it to a store, the tech will evaluate it and probably give you a FRU which s a field replacement unit free of charge.
Sometimes it is software that needs to be updated but what I have seen from my own experience is, they just give you a replacement phone.
Remember that any phone you get will look brand new in appearance but if it "comes in a white box", it is a refurbished unit.
Most of these units often perform better than the original unit you had but a quick visit to a Verizon Corporate store (not a Circuit City because they don't have techs) will get you a repair or replacement.

if it's acting up and there's no physical damage to the unit then they'll replace it free of charge. if it's within 30 days of orginal purchase then they'll give you a new one straight out of the box which is called DOA (dead on arrival) if not they'll give you a refurb one. which they all still have a warranty of course.

first thanks to those who replied.
i took the phone to a vzn store where i purchased in about a year ago. they said i would have to contact the insurance company for repair or replacement.
so i called a number and they will overnight me another q. they had no interest in trying to repair my phone.
i would have liked to have received the black q instead but they apparently cannot do that. no big deal, at least i will get a working phone, i hope.

Hmm, what exactly is your question?

keep this in mind, recently they changed the policy on insurence phones, if the insurence sends you a phone you have a one year warranty with the insurence, so if you have any problems with your phone you have to call the 800 insurence number and talk to their tech support, and they will probably have to do a warranty replacement unless its physically damaged or liquid damaged in that case you would have to file another claim, hope this info helps
