Be Gentle--KRZR vs. LG 8300 vs. ?

I have an unusual problem.

I have been a happy LG phone user for years. However, when Verizon recently put in a new cell tower in my neighborhood, the transmission from my 8300 became terribly muddled (in my neighborhood), while the reception improved a lot. They have admitted to the problem (the new tower helped most, but made it worse for a few) and have agreed to let me out of my contract if I desire.

To stay with Verizon, I tried using a Moto Krzr and found no problem with either transmission or reception. Both were excellent. Hmm...They have graciously offered to swap my phone, the 8300 for the Krzr.

Am I crazy to do it? Is there another Verizon phone you would recommend?

I also considered changing carriers--to T-Mobile a...

I have two 8300s on a shared plan.

My wife just wants a reliable talker--no fuss, no muss. Good quality connection. (Although a little style does grab her.)

I want that, too, but I also noodle around a bit with music (1 gb card) and the camera. I have an iPod and two digital cameras, so music and photography on a phone are not crucial. I simply like electronic gadgets. But I'm no phone head...I won't be spending hours modifying my phones.

Call quality and reliability. Plus a wee bit of style.

And thank you for your help!
