Think of moving to Verizon from Cingular/AT&T

I have been with Cingular/AT&T for nearly 6 years. Back when they were AT&T Wireless the coverage and service were great. When it moved to Cingular coverage seemed to get better, but customer service was lousy.

In the last 6 months or so I have begun to have strange coverage problems. I'm not going anywhere different that I have in the past, but suddenly there are large areas where I no longer get a signal at all. I live in Oklahoma, Tulsa to be exact.

My wife and I are on one of the family plans and have two different phones. Mine is a Nokia, her's is a Sony/Ericcsson. We are both having the same problems.

For example. I work in downtown Tulsa. In the past the signal was strong here and call quality was excellent. Now I am lucky ...

Well welcome aboard! I have family in the Sapulpa, area, and they have been starting to have the same problem with ATT/Cingular. I haven't been to Tulsa since Thanksgiving and the service was fairly decent with VZW then. I know they have launched an EVDO network down there wich may help out tremendously. I am headed that way this weekend to be exact, I'm anxious to see how much it has improved. As far as phones go, I would recommend the LG VX3400 or 3450 for your wife. They are basic plain jane, no bells no whistles phones. We have sold a ton of them out of my store location, and have had 0 returns due to phone issues. As far as you go, I'm not sure what the LG866 is, but the 8700 looks pretty sweet. I haven't used one or handled on...

Sapulpa huh? Well.....as someone who was raised in Sand Springs I will do my best not to hold the fact that you have family in Sapupla against you.

Thanks for the advice. On the phones....I meant to say LG 8600 or LG 8700. Fat fingered the keyboard.

Thanks again!

Lol!! Luckily they weren't born down there, they moved there with a job my Father-In-Law got with Bartlett Collins. And technically, there address is Tulsa, they just go to Sapulpa Schools...

I have to admit that Sapulpa had some fine looking girls back when I was in high school. Of course that was also before the Earth had cooled.

Let me know how the coverage works out for you while you are here. My plan isn't up until May 2nd so I won't be switching until after then.

Ahh yes the 8600. Decent phone as well. I know quite a few people who carry them and seem to have good luck with them. Again, we've had 0 returns from those with defects as well.

I think you would be very happy if you switched to VZW. Verizon Wireless is the #1 carrier for a reason.
