my treo just died on me..I'm in mourning...
So I decided to make the jump and try a treo 650...i love the phone, and its been a big help in keeping track of my schedule.
So today, I'm driving and i look over and the phone is just dead...no power, nothing. I take it to verizon and they come to the same conclusion.
So basically I bought this phone a month ago for $150 and now I have a very nice paperweight. Dammit palm!

Craigslist is not the problem. 🤨
It is dishonest people who want to take advantage of others. I am shocked that people would try and screw someone that is in the local area like craigslists. Craigslist was ment for face to facec transactions in your local area.
I can see getting taken on Ebay since you are doing a transaction with a person you never met. I have had great luck on craigslist. Another viewpoint is that maybe the person selling didn't know that it would die. Treo's are a know product with problems. It is to bad that it died take it to a Verizon corp store to see what they say. Could be as simple as a bad battery?

I really don't blame the guy who sold it to me...he was a nice guy, hell, when we met he had his wife and kids with him and they were going camping!
I don't know what happenend, Im gonna call verizon and palm today and see what they can do.

yeah...atleast i got for a pretty good price...Im back to my LG 8300 for now...I found another used one on CL for $200 with all cables/manuals and a 2gb card. Might pull the trigger...but who knows, im up for an upgrade in June, might just wait and then get one with a warranty, which apparently is more important that I thought,lol.

filed an insurance claim, verizon is sending me one and it should be here by friday!!! Kudos to verizon and assurion for some great customer service.

Just wondering how can you get Asurion to cover a third party phone? You mentioned you bought this from some family from CL. I would like to know how to get insurance on a phone that was not purchased at a store and is not in the 1st 15 days of the contract since assurion doesn't cover this stuff they also won't allow you to transfer insurance to another phone unless it was purchased at a Verizon Store.
I appreciate your feedback or anyones on this subject.

1. Bought an LG 8300 Last June with my NE2 and got the insurance on my account
2. Bought this treo off craigslist in late March and activated it. Treo Dies yesterday.
3. Apparently after my treo completely died, I was covered due to the fact that I never cancelled my original insurance that started on the LG 8300. I didn't think you could transfer insurance either, but maybe you can.
4. DHL hopefully drops off phone tommorow!
So basically it seems that as long as you never cancel your original insurance, you might be covered on a phone that you activate that was not the original phone activated under the insurance.

yeah, i was pretty surprised myself...I don't know which one they will send. I think it all depends on what they have in stock. They might not be stocking the 650 anymore, in which case i prolly would get the 700p.
They just better not send me a 700w, or im gonna be pissed! I hate windows mobile.
But yeah, for $50, I think I got a pretty fair deal.

Just got it in the mail. I got the 650....looks like its in pretty good shape, and now I have a warranty via Assurion. This may have been a pretty darn good deal for $50!

as long as you have it on your account(within 15 days from buying it from a retailer for any reason) they don't care what happens after that. I beleive you have to have the current phone on your account for 30 days and have made and received calls on it, that is the only restrictions i know of, so if you buy a phone on ebay and use it for a month you are good to go, otherwise i think they have the option of sending you the previous model on your account
