ok, stupid question i know but....

what is the difference between the EV and 1x indicator on my phone? i always have a stronger EV signal....what does that mean? thanks!

EV = Broadband speed (for vcast streaming)
1X = National Access speed (slower, no vcast allowed)

I'm in a cellular/PCS market, and EV is always weaker than 1X, since 1X is used in both cellular & PCS, while EVDO (EV) is PCS only, and the PCS network is poorly built out. The PCS network in my area is overlayed on the cellular band network, with there being gaps in the PCS coverage, but cellular coverage better covered. When I went into a PCS only market (Milwaukee Wisconsin), EVDO & 1X are evenly covered (since both are implemented on the same towers), but at times, EVDO is a bar stronger than 1X. I forgot what the reason was that in PCS only markets, EVDO is slightly stronger, but I'm at work, and can't search howardfor...

With CDMA networks, the more people use it, the weaker the signal gets.

So seems like no one is using the EV-DO network but a lot of people are using the 1X network.

Phones are only used for phone calls in your area huh? Not enough kids using the V-Cast?
