LG VX8600 - two questions
1. I'm looking at buying a VX8600, but am curious if there's any possibility Verizon might be offering any kind of price break or if that is something that occurs every so often. I thought they might lower the price with the 8700 out now (since they appear to be very similar). Also, do they offer any kind of price protection if the price goes down immediately after i buy it? If HP can, I would think Verizon certainly could.

re 1. Verizon tends to do phone pricing by manufacture. Last period motos were reduced, this period samsungs are, so next period would most likely be LG.
As for price protection, you have a 30 day return period for any phone you get from verizon, so pretty much if the price drops within 30 days of you buying it just call into customer service and you will be able to get a credit for the dif in cost. The reasoning being that if you wernt given a credit you would be able to just return the phone to get your money back and buy the same phone again at the new discounted price.

Verizon is a cell carrier first, not a music store. in fact, they are a very LARGE cell carrier. i can't see how they would limit 60 million customers to a service of THEIRS, one that is not directly related to their primary purpose, which is to provide a means of communicating. i don't think Verizon would alienate customers like that. we have cell carriers, phone manufacturers, and company's that provide extra services for the carrier/manufacturer relationship. Verizon isn't in direct competition with the third party companies, such as Google and Yahoo. and Verizon isn't a niche company either. it wouldn't be in their best interst to limit customers to o...
