Only way to fix your service is to dial *228 from your wireless phone and pick option 2 to update your phone. Changing the battery has NOTHING to do with your signal. You could send in your phone under warranty to LG. If you have insurance and are paying for it per month you could also file a claim. Whatever you do, changing the battery will not in any way change your reception.

Again DP is right.

Extended batteries do nothing for reception.

LG-VX4500's have been coming into my store recently over the past 3-4 months. All of them are having reception problems. I've sent them out to LG service and issued loaners for the time being. Some of them have switched to "Service Needed" for no reason.

I'm starting to wonder if the LG-VX4500 has a few bugs in its reception wires/antenna/circuits. This might of just been a bad batch.

Take DP's advice. Send it to service through your local VZW store. Some VZW stores may just straight up advance exchange the phone right there for you.

Good luck friend!
